3Com SuperStack II Switch 3300 Configuration:

1. Prepare a data line to connect the vswitch and PC
2. Use Windows accessories-communication-Super Terminal
3. Power on the switch
4. Press the enter keys on the Super Terminal. The logon prompt is displayed. Enter the default username/password: admin/(no password)
5. After setting the IP address, you can configure the vswitch in Web mode.
6. You can use transcend network supervisor to find the vswitch with the IP address set.

Port trunks establishes multiple connections between two vswitches, which improves the communication speed between vswitches and provides redundancy. You can set these ports and use these ports to connect two vswitches.

VLAN provides logical segmentation for the network. It has three advantages:

Upgrade vswitch Software

The random optical disk contains a file named 3comtftp.exe, which is a self-decompressed file. After the file is decompressed, run install.exe to install the TFTP server.
