Connecting various network devices in a LAN through a network line is one of the basic steps for establishing a LAN. Some netizens may say that it is too easy to connect network devices through network lines. Indeed, for a netizen familiar with networking, connecting various network devices with a network cable should be the most basic requirement. However, for many netizens who have just started to access the network, they may not be able to connect their computers and related network devices through the network cable. The poor connection may result in slow overall speed of the LAN, it even causes the network to fail to communicate normally. In view of this, I will introduce in detail how to connect different network devices through the network line for these cainiao-level network friends who have just been involved in the networking, so as to make the Internet more effective!
Cross-connection between NICs
If the two computers need to form a small-scale network to facilitate mutual information transmission, they can directly connect the two computers using network lines, you do not need to transfer data through a hub or vswitch. However, when connecting two NICs, you cannot directly use the express Connect line, but you must use the cross-type network line. When creating a cross-type network line, you must use the T568A line sequence to connect one end to the other, the other end uses the T568B line sequence connection. If the crossover network cable is not created in accordance with such standards, even if the two computers can access each other through such a network connection line, the interference caused by the internal line of the network cable, transmission signals are especially prone to errors when the network cable is uploaded or transmitted. This will affect the stability of information transmission. In severe cases, the Network may fail.
Tip: If the 10 M Nic is directly connected to the 10 M/M Adaptive Nic, and the network optimization program is installed on the computer where the 10 M Nic is located, you 'd better set the attributes of the 10 M/M Adaptive Nic to force the NIC to work at a transmission speed of 10 M so that the transmission speed of the two NICs can reach the maximum value, this is because the 10 M/M network adapter can dynamically coordinate the transmission speed of the other network adapter to determine whether the transmission speed is 10 M or M, if the other network card provides a speed of 10 m, the network card will automatically work at 10 m. However, because the computer where the 10 m network card is located uses the network optimization program, as a result, each 10 M/M Nic and 10 M Nic receive or send an information packet, dynamic coordination is required to determine the speed of 10 M or M to work; in the process of repeated and frequent coordination, network transmission will produce a Delay Phenomenon, thus reducing the network transmission efficiency. When the speed of the 10 M/M Adaptive Nic is reduced to 10 M, the information transmission between them will not dynamically coordinate the transmission speed, so that there will be no delay in network transmission, the final transmission speed will be the fastest. When the speed of the 10 M/M Adaptive Nic is reduced to 10 M, open the "local connection" attribute setting window and click "Configure" next to the 10 M/M adaptive Nic, go to the "advanced" attribute settings page of the NIC and select the "Link Speed & Duplex" item, set the corresponding "value" to "10 Mbps/Half Duplex.
Star Network for Direct Connection
The star network mentioned here refers to a limited number of computers connected to a switch or hub by means of network twisted pair wires. The network mode centered on a switch or hub is realized, this networking method is actually to use twisted pair wires to connect the network adapter with a switch or hub. This connection is the most common network connection method in the networking process. When you connect a network card to a vswitch or hub, you can use a straight-through network line instead of a cross-line network line. When creating a straight-through network line, many people tend to ignore the line sequence and think that the connections on both sides of the network only need to be completely consistent; in fact, the production of the straight-through network line must strictly follow the T568A line sequence standards at both ends. Only in this way can the straight-through network line have strong anti-interference capabilities.
TIPS: Generally, when multiple computers need to transmit information to each other, they usually connect all the computers together with a switch or hub. If the number of computers exceeds the number of ports on the vswitch or hub, you can use another vswitch or hub for connection. Although this method can make network connection more convenient, it is easier to save the wiring cost, but the connection method of the series can also easily lead to attenuation of the transmission signal, resulting in a large amount of data packet loss, and ultimately lead to a decline in network transmission performance. Under normal circumstances, the number of switches or hubs in a 10 m standard transmission network should not exceed 3, and the number of switches or hubs in a m standard transmission network should not exceed 2.
We also need to remind you that no matter whether you are creating a cross-cutting or straight-through network line, I suggest you use a blade-less wire breaker instead, after all, no-blade wire breaker generally uses a hexagonal design, which can effectively prevent minor cables from being damaged when it is used for wire stripping. On the contrary, when using a blade wire breaker to create a network cable, the sharp blade will cut the skin of the cable accidentally, which brings a fault risk to the efficient communication of the network in the future.

Optical module, reasonable connection
The so-called optical terminal module is the connection between the optical transceiver module and the Intranet or computer. This connection usually occurs when the optical fiber channel is used as the transmission media. Generally, different connection methods are often used when the optical transceiver module is connected to different network devices. For example, if the optical transceiver module is directly connected to the NIC in the computer, you should first install the NIC in the computer correctly and set it properly; then connect the NIC to the optical transceiver directly using the crossover network twisted pair; if the optical transceiver is dual-mode, you also need to use the optical jumper to connect the two transceiver. If you are using a single-mode transceiver, then the Jumper used for connection must also be single-mode. If you are using optical modules with regulatory functions, You can smoothly connect to your computer, regardless of whether you are using a cross network line or a straight-through network line.
If the optical transceiver module is connected to a vswitch, you only need to use a straight-through network line to connect the optical transceiver module to the vswitch.
Transit device, on-demand connection
Generally, all computers connected to the same vswitch or hub are in the same subnet, you need to connect a vswitch in two subnets with a vswitch or hub and a hub. Only in this way can the computers in the two subnets achieve mutual access, the switches and hubs mentioned here are all intermediate devices in the LAN. The network connection between the two intermediate devices is more complex.
For example, to connect two switches or hubs to each other and make them communicate correctly, you need to establish on-demand connection based on the switch or hub interface type; if a switch or Hub does not have a special port dedicated for Cascade, we must perform a "1-3, 2-6" jumper on the network twisted pair, that is to say, a crossover network cable is used to connect two switches or hubs. A crossover network cable can be inserted into any port of a switch or hub.
If the vswitch or Hub control panel you are using contains special flag ports such as "MDI", "Uplink", and "Out to Hub, then, you only need to use a straight-through network line to correctly connect these transit devices, during the specific connection, you only need to insert the two ends of the straight-through network into the special flag ports of the switch or hub respectively. To facilitate the user group network, many intermediate Device Products Produced by sellers now basically contain special port numbers such as "MDI", "Uplink", and "Out to Hub, therefore, you can connect to these transit devices by using the express connect.
TIPS: To facilitate your selection of appropriate methods to correctly connect a vswitch or hub to a hub, follow these steps to confirm the selection: First, check the vswitch or hub
In general, once a vswitch or hub needs to be cascade, the manual will tell you whether it is a cross-network connection or a straight-through network connection. If you cannot find the product manual, check the control panel of the switch or hub, check whether the Panel contains special ports such as "MDI", "Uplink", and "Out to Hub". If these special ports exist, you can use a straight-through network cable to connect to them. Without these special ports, you must use a cross-line network cable to connect to them. In addition, there is a stupid way to determine which network cables are used to connect the vswitch, The vswitch, the hub, and the hub. This method is to first prepare the twisted pair wires of two different production methods, one is made of the pass-through model and the other is made of the cross model. Then, choose any test line to connect two switches or hubs and observe the corresponding port signal lights, if the signal light is normal, the two devices have been correctly connected. Otherwise, use another test line for connection.

Expand ports and stack connections
Although cross-connection or direct connection can achieve mutual communication between the switch and the switch, if you want to expand the number of ports, you can also use the stack method to connect the switch and the switch, of course, this method requires the support of specific conditions, rather than any brand of switch can use the stack connection method. In general, the stack connection method requires that both switches have dedicated stack modules. The two switches must be of the same brand and must use dedicated cables for connection, after completing the physical connection, you must properly set the switch.
Any device that matches the connection
In addition to the above connection method, there is also a connection principle that applies to almost any device in the network, this principle is any device in the LAN, regardless of the communication media used for physical connection, each device must be matched in terms of speed or other performance. Only in this way can the potential of all devices in the network be fully realized. For example, if a 10 Mbps standard Nic is directly connected to a Mbps Standard switch, the maximum network transmission speed is 10 Mbps, in this way, a Mbps Standard switch can only be used as a 10 Mbps Standard switch, which obviously leads to idle and wasted device resources. On the other hand, A Mbps Standard switch is more expensive than a 10 Mbps Standard switch. Otherwise, it will easily lead to a waste of money! Therefore, when connecting various network devices in the LAN, you must pay attention to the performance matching of each device, and strive to build a LAN network with the most efficient performance with the least money.
TIPS: No matter which type of network device the network is connected to, try to keep it in an independent channel, instead of hanging it together with a telephone line, power line, or other communication cable, this not only facilitates future line maintenance, but also avoids interference from other signals.(
