Throughout the Internet research field, router technology has always been at the core position, and its development history and direction have become a microcosm of Internet research. In the Internet, routers, as the main node devices, are the key devices for connecting networks and the hubs of interconnected networks. The Hub function is to establish connections between different networks. The vro system forms the main context of the TCP/IP-based Internet, and is the backbone of the Internet.
A router is in a critical position in an interconnected network because it is at the network layer and has the following two functions: on the one hand, it shields the technical details of the underlying network, DDN, FDDI, and Ethernet can be used across different physical network types, so that all types of networks are unified as IP addresses. This Consistency makes communication between users across the world possible; on the other hand, the entire interconnected network is divided into logically independent network units, so that the network has a certain logical structure. At the same time, the router is also responsible for flexible routing selection of IP packets, data is forwarded to the destination segment by segment, making communication between users around the world a reality.
With the continuous development of computer networks, the rapid increase of network bandwidth, and the improvement of users' service quality requirements, as the core device of the Internet, the router technology is also facing new changes. Especially in the aspect of high-end routers, it has become an irresistible trend for its development in the Multi-Service direction. Cisco, Huawei 3COM, Juniper, Avici, and D-Link are representative of domestic and foreign equipment vendors with high business levels.

1) Telecommunication Network Man backbone layer) Solution
F-engine R8000 has a high-speed packet forwarding capability and telecom-level reliability design. It can be used as a backbone layer node of the man and can be connected to the provincial backbone network. In addition, R8000 supports MPLS and VPN and can be used as P nodes in mpls vpn to provide L3 VPN services for operators. For example, the design scheme of the man in the telecom network consists of the backbone layer, convergence layer and access layer. F-engine R8000 is the network device at the core layer in this solution.

2) Networking Solutions for industrial users and large enterprises
In this solution, we will use the Quidway NE20 series router as the convergence layer or core layer device for industrial users or super large enterprise networks. As the convergence layer device, it is used to connect the core layer and the access layer, achieve hierarchical network interconnection. Figure 4 of the network topology of this solution:
Figure 4 solution topology of industries and super-large enterprises
Specific solution:
- Quidway NE40/80 Series routers are used as the core routers in the backbone network of the industrial headquarters. The 155 M optical/electrical interfaces are used to connect each network segment of the backbone network of the headquarters, and the branches are connected through the m atm line.
- Quidway NE20 series routers are used as the branches to connect to the headquarters core routers, connect to multiple offices downward, gather traffic, and manage the corresponding network. The branch Branch's internal network is connected to each network segment through a 2 M interface.
- Quidway NE20 series routers have a variety of optional interface modules, providing industry users and large enterprises with flexible interconnection methods, you can select low-speed interfaces at n × 2 m or n × 64 K rates for each office to save costs. For the headquarters, you can select interfaces such as ATM, E1/T1 to increase the forwarding rate. Flexible modular configuration makes network expansion more convenient
3) DDN Solution
In this solution, R8000 will be used to build private networks for government, finance, education, and other industries. Among them, the provincial backbone, R8000 can form a ring core layer through high-speed POS or RPR interfaces. The sub-county uses the city as the center for Star access. To ensure the reliability of the county-level network, the county backbone router and the two R8000 routers in the city can be connected for Link backup. As shown in:
