New essay (3) when to use buttons and when to use text links

Why do you use buttons in this place instead of text links?

This is a question I asked a designer just now.

She looked up at me and looked confused. She said, "There is nothing to do with it. I think it is obvious here... "

I guess what stupid question does she have in her mind? I just got my intuition.

Ha, I am a serious person. I like to be honest. I believe that everything in the world has its own rules.

(It may have been due to media work. I am very sensitive to things on the page and ask the designer to tell me why I put this element here, why not put another one, what will it do)

Just now, I gave her my opinion carefully.

Question: Whenever you decide to put an element on the page, you should first ask yourself like Zhou xingwei: "Give me a reason first. "Or" does this design affect the website ?"

Because, if you don't ask yourself first, someone will ask you.

Unless you do not want to take it seriously any more.

Return to the button and text link.

Whether to select a button or text link depends on the impact on the website.

Generally, there are two types of website links:

1. The user's clicking has an impact on the website

The impact is that users' actions affect the front-end and back-end of the website, and the website itself has changed,

For example, if a user creates a new account and completes a payment, their behavior affects the website background. Users publish a new article or comment. The content they add can be seen by other users, which affects the front-end of the website.

In these cases, buttons should be used. This is to enable eye-catching buttons to remind users to be cautious. The buttons placed on the page should be used to urge users to make decisions quickly.

Therefore, the button is used when the user's behavior has an impact on the front and back ends of the website.

2. User clicking does not affect the website

There is no impact. After a user clicks, the user only jumps from one page to another. When the user browses the website, they will not change the website's front-end or back-end in addition to increasing your PV.

In this case, you should use concise text links.

Therefore, when to use buttons and when to use text links, the rule is simple:

1. Will affect the website, use button Link

2. If it does not affect the website, use text links.

Creating Rules does not mean that you must "draw images based on samples" in actual implementation, but to grasp an effective and rational thinking path, this reflects your professional quality.
