New features of the Bootstrap 4 update (FULL)

Bootstrap 4 There are too many important updates, this article can not be exhaustive, the following are some of the highlights of concern:

• Migrating from less to sass: Now, Bootstrap has joined Sass's extended family. Thanks to the Libsass,bootstrap, the compilation speed is faster than before;

• Improved grid system: Add a grid layer to fit mobile devices and reorganize semantic blending.

• Support for selecting the Elastic box Model (Flexbox): This is an epoch-making feature--simply modifying a Boolean variable allows you to quickly lay out the benefits of Flexbox.

• Abandoned wells, thumbnails and panels, using cards instead: Cards is a new concept, but it is much more convenient to use wells, thumbnails and panels.

• Consolidates all HTML reset style sheets into reboot: Reboot is available in places where normalize.css is not possible, and it provides more options. For example, Box-sizing:border-box, margin tweaks, etc. are stored in a separate Sass file.

• New custom options: Instead of placing gradients, fades, shadows, and so on in a separate style sheet, as in the previous version. Instead, move all the options to a SASS variable. Want to define a default effect for a global or not-considered corner? It's simple, just update the value of the variable and recompile it.

• No longer supports IE8, using REM and EM units: Abandoning support for IE8 means that developers can safely take advantage of CSS without having to study CSS hack techniques or fallback mechanisms. Use REM and em instead of PX units for responsive layout and control component size. If you want to support IE8, you can only continue with bootstrap 3.

• Rewrite all JavaScript plugins: To take advantage of the new features of JavaScript, Bootstrap 4 rewrites all plugins with ES6. Features such as UMD support, generic disassembly methods, option type checking are now available.

• Improved ToolTips and popovers auto-positioning: This section thanks to the help of the tether tool.

• Improved documentation: All documents are rewritten in markdown format, add some handy plug-in organization examples and code snippets, documents are easier to use, and search optimization is in progress.

• More changes: support for custom form controls, whitespace and fill classes, and also includes new utility classes.
