New features related to developers in Windows Mobile 6

The following telephone functions are newly added in Windows Mobile 6. Any requirements for other software are listed one by one. Additional hardware requirements will also be listed.

Developer experience	Description
New Changes in Windows Mobile 6 naming	The new name not only reflects the capabilities of Windows Mobile devices in one aspect.
Compact framework	. NET Compact Framework Version 2 SP2 is now included in the Windows Mobile 6 device. The device simulator also contains SP2. For more information, see use managed code development.
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 compact	The SQL Server 2005 Lite version is a lightweight Microsoft SQL Server 2005. This streamlined local database can be used on desktops, tablet PCs, or Windows Mobile/Windows Embedded ce devices. Developers can use the same database to develop applications that do not often need to be connected to the Microsoft Client platform. This database can also be used to locally store and synchronize data with other SQL Server 2005 versions. The SQL Server Lite version is also included in the ROM of the Windows Mobile 6 device. New default database	EDB has replaced CEDB as the default database. CEDB is no longer used in Windows Mobile 6.
Windows Mobile ink	Windows Mobile ink is a platform implemented by the ink service on Windows Mobile 6 Professional and Windows Mobile 6 classic. It can interact with the ink data on the tablet PC through the ISF stream. It also provides APIs for collecting, identifying, rendering, and managing ink data.
New API for playing music	Improved audio playback. For more information, see audio reference.
Iframe xhtml Element	Internet Explorer mobile now supports IFRAME elements.
Windows Mobile marketplace	Windows Mobile marketplace is a platform that allows users to directly browse, download, and install third-party software on their devices. The front-end of a network-based store is supported by the carrier and the OEM who select some software release partners. The marketplace client program on the device can also access it. This client provides standard interfaces to the online store to manage purchased software and installation processes. For more information, see marketplace.
Security, security, GPS and resolution awareness tools	These specific Windows Mobile tools and programs can help developers develop Windows Mobile applications. These tools include GPS, security, and resolution sensing tools. Cabsigntool makes it easier to sign multiple files at the time of publication. The cab wizard and wceload tool can help package files to be deployed on the device. For more information, see cab wizard and wceload tool.
Mobile phone Simulator	Cellular emulator, or cellemu, provides the following functions: This desktop program is driven by the UI to make it easier to operate. The image in its device uses the radio driver of the actual product. Supports PPP data connections. The mobile phone simulator allows you to simulate various operations on real phones on the device simulator.
Windows Mobile Device Simulator	The device simulator has been upgraded to version 2, with many improvements and some new features added.
Local Server framework	The local server framework is a simulator that allows users to develop custom server programs that can run locally.
