When Will Oracle 11G be launched?
With the launch of Oracle openworld over the past few days, more and more new features of oracle11g have been presented.
Previously, I once introduced that oracle11g may be launched at this conference in May October. At that time, we can see information about the alpha version, and now we are using the beta version, it is not far from the official version of oracle11g.
Laurent Schneider mentioned in his blog that the oracle11g name has not yet been finalized. Just like when the 10g was launched, Oracle may give a new name to the version 11 database. However, according to my estimation, the change is unlikely, because the grid technology is not mature in 10 Gb, and the promotion and use are extremely limited. Oracle should go at least one step in this direction ~ Only two versions are available.
What exciting new features (new features) will emerge in the 11g?
Justin kestelyn mentioned many new features introduced in beta in his blog:
1. If 10 Gb focuses on reducing the owner cost, 11 GB focuses on reducing the change management cost (also known as providing change assurance)
2. dataguard will introduce a new feature-Flashback standby
This new feature allows the backup database to create a snapshot to repeat all the load changes of the master database, making it possible to study the load changes of the master database through the backup database, and through the flash back function, the slave database can still be consistent with the master database.
Eygle note: In my opinion, this new feature enriches the dataguard function, so that the dataguard can play a greater role.
3. In terms of change management enhancement, Oracle provides online upgrade and hot Patching to achieve system maintenance without a down time.
Eygle Note: This is really an exciting feature. It has obviously been expected to fix problems that reduce down time.
4. Quick troubleshooting
This feature is achieved through the introduction of automatic collection of fault-related information, and the database provides repair recommendations (repair advisor) and other tools to assist in rapid troubleshooting.
5. Partition Enhancement
Implements logical object partitioning and automatic partition creation.
Eygle Note: Automatic partition creation has always been implemented through self-written processes. Now Oracle has built this process into the database, this can only be considered as a small enhancement in ease of use.
6. Others
New High-Performance lob infrastructure
Local Java & PL/SQL Compiler
New PHP driver
Let's look forward to the arrival of the 11g!
