In Windows Vista, Microsoft has launched the game Manager (Games Explorer), which you can use to publish and manage games, including built-in Windows games and PC games such as Solitaire, Chess and Windows Live games.

In Windows 7, there are many new features in the game manager that help the average player manage the built-in games in Windows 7 and can also be useful for PC gamers.

When you first start the game manager in Windows 7, you will find that it classifies the game according to the game provider, such as when you download the Geometry War from MSN Games (Geometry Wars:retro evolved), MSN Games will be treated as a game provider. The only official vendor currently in the Windows 7 Beta is Microsoft, but there will be more game providers after the release of the official version.

The game manager will provide users with the latest updates to the game vendor, including news about the game, and these updates will appear on the right side of the preview pane when the game vendor is selected.

In "Options" you can activate the game's automatic upgrade notification, or choose to manually view it by right-clicking the game or game provider and choosing "View game Upgrades online."

Another feature of the game manager in Windows 7 is that it can show when an installed game can be upgraded, such as "Simulate Flight X" and "Halo 2", and the game manager prompts both games to have an upgraded version.

Users can install the latest updates to the game directly in the game manager:

In the preview window of the upgradeable game, there is a button that prompts you to download:

When the download is complete, the "Download Now" prompt button becomes the "Install Now" button:

In addition, the game manager tracks the games that the user has played:
