This chapter describes how to create a simple virtual machine. Windows azure provides multiple types of virtual machines, including Windows and Linux versions. I will introduce how to create a Windows azure Vm with SQL Server 2012 pre-installed.

1. First, log on to the Windows azure management interface https://manage.windowsazure.com/and enter your user name and password.

2. After logging in, click New --> Virtual Machine --> from gallery

3. On the displayed "Virtual Machine Operation System Selection" Page, select SQL Server 2012

4. In "virtual machine configuration", set the Virtual Machine name and logon password, and finally set the size of the Virtual Machine. Here I select small.

5. On the "virtual machine mode" Page, select "standalone Virtual Machine", set the DNS name, and select "use an automatically generated Stroage account" for storage account, and select "East Asia" for region"

6. It takes about 8 to 10 minutes to complete the Virtual Machine creation process.

7. After the virtual machine is created, you can view the created virtual machine in the virtual machine.

8. Click sql2012vm1 In the Name List. The page will jump to the dashboard. Click the connect button at the bottom. Connect to the VM we created earlier through Remote Desktop Connection

9. Click Connect and we will be prompted to save the RDP information. Select "open ". (Or you can save it to this disk to log on to the Remote Desktop again)

10. The system will prompt us to enter the password. We will enter the previously configured password.

11. after entering the password, we can access the Remote Desktop Connection of this VM. Click "start" --> "All Programs" to check that SQL 2012 is pre-installed on the VM.
