[Original article publication date] Sunday, January 07,200
At this week's Consumer Electronics Show, Yahoo presented several cool demos of their next-generation Messenger Client (you can watch a demo video in a http://messenger.yahoo.com/vista ). One of the coolest things is that this new Messenger Client was developed using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and. net.
One of the most powerful aspects of WPF is its ability to create an immersive user experience, this experience far surpasses what we expect from common clients or Web applications today. Developers can style and templated user interfaces in ways not available in most other user interface frameworks, use its built-in user interface/code separation model to allow designers and developers to work with the Development Project.
In the next few months, I will post n blog posts to demonstrate how to use WPF to develop brilliant applications (Note: WPF is already a built-in library in the. NET Framework redistribution file ). If you are interested in learning more about WPF, I strongly recommend that you subscribe to thewpfblog, which will post some wonderful articles on WPF and WPF/e, the above is a recent post.
Something fun,
Scott
