I believe that some users are still vague about the application of the Windows operating system security mode. The following describes the application skills of the Windows security mode.

Security Mode Basics

Security mode is a special mode in Windows. Friends who often use computers are certainly not unfamiliar. In security mode, users can easily fix system errors, to get twice the result with half the effort. The working principle of safe mode is to start the computer without loading the driver of a third-party device, so that the computer runs in the minimum system mode, in this way, users can conveniently detect and repair computer system errors.

How to enter

When you start a computer, press F8 (or press Ctrl when you start the computer) before the system enters the Windows Startup screen. The operating system multi-mode Startup menu appears, you only need to select "Safe Mode" to start the computer to Safe Mode.

Nine Application Skills

1. Delete stubborn files

When we delete some files in Windows or clear the content of the resource recycle bin, the system sometimes prompts "the file is in use and cannot be deleted", but these files are not in use, at this point, you can try to restart the computer and enter safe mode at startup. After you enter safe mode, Windows Automatically releases control of these files and deletes them.

2. "security mode" Restoration

If the computer cannot be started properly, you can use "safe mode" or other startup options to start the computer. Press F8 when the computer is started, and select safe mode from the "Start mode" menu, then perform system restoration as follows:

Click Start> All Programs> attachments> System Tools> System Recovery to open the system recovery wizard, select the "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option, click the "Next" button, and click the date displayed in the Italic on the calendar to select the System Restore origin (Figure 3 ), click "Next" to restore the system.

3. virus detection and removal

Today, the virus is more than once a day, and anti-virus software is updated every day. However, we don't have to worry about anti-virus in Windows, because they are very likely to be cross-infected. Some anti-virus programs cannot run in DOS. At this time, we can also start the system to safe mode so that Windows can only load the most basic driver, in this way, the virus is completely and cleanup.

4. Unlock the Group Policy

In fact, in Windows, group policy restrictions are implemented by loading specific key values of the Registry, but they are not loaded in security mode. Press the F8 key after restarting the system. In the multi-boot menu window that appears, select "safe mode with command prompt ". After entering the desktop, enter "C: \ Windows \ System32 \ XXX.exe (your program)" at the startup command prompt, start the console, and then follow the steps above to remove the restriction, restart the system to unlock it.

Note: Many group policy restrictions cannot take effect in security mode. If you encounter a restriction that cannot be lifted, you may wish to find a solution.

5. Repair System Faults

If Windows is not stable or cannot be started properly, do not reinstall the system. restart the computer and switch to safe mode. Then restart the computer, has the system recovered to normal? This method is very effective for system faults caused by registry problems, because Windows can automatically fix registry problems when started in safe mode. After Windows is started successfully in safe mode, generally, it can be started in Normal mode.

6. Restore system settings

If the user fails to start the system properly after installing new software or changing some settings, you also need to go to security mode. If the user is caused by the installation of new software, uninstall the software in safe mode. If some settings have been changed, for example, the display resolution setting is beyond the display range of the monitor, resulting in a black screen, you can change it back after entering safe mode, in addition, the screen saver with a password is placed in the "Start" menu. After the password is forgotten, the computer cannot be operated normally and the security mode can be changed.

7. Identify malicious self-starting programs or services

If the computer encounters some unknown errors, such as the failure to access the network and the problem cannot be found based on the general idea, you can start to the secure mode with network connection. If the problem persists, it indicates that some self-starting programs or services affect the normal connection of the network.

8. Detect incompatible hardware

XP adopts a digital signature-based driver mode, and performs more rigorous detection on various hardware than before. Therefore, some devices may not be able to drive normally. For example, for some early cable modem, if you find that XP does not recognize hardware in normal mode, you can press F8 at startup and select safe mode, when detecting new hardware in safe mode, it is possible to load the driver for the cable modem correctly.

9. Uninstall the incorrect driver

If the driver is not applicable to your hardware, you can use the XP driver to restore it. However, if the video card and hard disk IDE driver are installed incorrectly, they may crash as soon as they enter the GUI interface. The same is true for some motherboard ultra dma patches, because Windows needs to read the memory and disk page files at any time to adjust the computer status, the system crashes immediately when the hard drive encounters a problem. What should we do now?

In some cases, disabling the Administrator account may cause maintenance difficulties. For example, in a domain environment, if the security channel used to establish a connection fails for some reason, if there is no other local administrator account, you must restart the computer in safe mode to solve the connection interruption problem.

If you try to re-enable a disabled Administrator account, but the current administrator password does not meet the password requirements, you cannot re-enable the account. In this case, the optional members of the Administrator Group must set the password of the Administrator account on the "local user and group" user interface.
