No full screen resolution when installing Ubuntu Server in Vmware (or when Ubuntu is landing on a text interface)

Ubuntu Server/ubuntu resolution installed in Vmware, unable to fullscreen issue

Need to change grub settings

In the terminal or text interface, follow these steps to set up:

The first step:

Input command

sudo vim/etc/default/grub

Found it

# grub_gfxmode=800x600

Change 800x600 to the resolution you want to set, such as the resolution of my Notebook is 1366*768

is set to:

grub_gfxmode=1366x768

Note: Remove the previous comment (#) and don't change the x to *

Save and exit

Step Two:

Input command

Sudo

Found it

Add the following

Set Gfxpayload=keep

Modify the following shape as follows:

Set gfxmode=${grub_gfxmode}set gfxpayload=keep

Step Three:

Enter the command:

sudo update-grub

Fourth Step:

Restart

sudo shutdown-r now
