However, what makes network administrators feel a headache is that the lan network is clearly connected, but the network transmission speed is very slow. In the face of such "soft" network faults, many network managers tend to be scratching their heads and do not know where to start to solve the problem of slow network transmission speed. Starting from the network loop to speed up the network

Generally, when the lan network is small, the number of nodes contained in the network is not too large, and the network structure is not too complex, the network loop will rarely happen in the LAN. However, in LAN environments with relatively complex networking structures, some spare connection cables often exist. If we accidentally connect the cables to the network, it is easy to have a network loop. For example, the network cable is connected to room A from the unit data center, and then to Room B from Room A. At the same time, A backup network cable is directly connected to Room B from the unit data center, if these cables are connected at the same time, network loops will occur in the LAN, data packets will be continuously sent to the LAN, and the LAN will constantly verify data information, in this way, the data transmission speed of the LAN network will be significantly affected. It is relatively difficult to find the cause of the fault.

In order to avoid the slow speed caused by network loops as much as possible, we must develop good habits when laying network connection cables, it is necessary to promptly record and mark the standby Network cables, and add obvious labels to the network cables. In addition, in the T568A and T568B cable standards, the twisted pair wires only use four serial numbers: 1, 2, 3, and 6, among them, line 1 and line 2 are specifically used to send data information, and line 3 and line 6 are specifically used to receive data information, and the T568A production line standard and the T568B production line standard, line 1, line 2, and line 3, and line 6 must both come from one bypass pair. Only in this way can the impact of crosstalk and background noise on data signal transmission be minimized.

However, in the actual process of creating network cables, many line laying staff did not follow the standard to make network cables. As a result, LAN communication has a great risk, there may be two specific phenomena. One is that the transmission speed of the LAN network is normal at the beginning, but after a period of use, the network transmission speed will gradually slow down, another phenomenon is that the local network transmission speed is very slow at the beginning. The previous fault is particularly evident in desktop computers, but it is often not obvious in laptops. After repeated practices, I found that the slow network transmission speed caused by network cables not strictly produced in accordance with the standards also has a certain relationship with the network card quality used by the workstation. Generally, the performance of NIC devices installed on a laptop is better than that installed on a desktop computer. Starting from a broadcast storm to speed up the network

To promptly discover new unknown devices in the network, the LAN usually uses broadcast information to identify changes in the network. However, with the gradual expansion of the LAN network scale, the number of workstations contained in the network is also increasing, and the number of broadcast data packets will also rapidly increase accordingly, once the number of broadcast packets in the network reaches 30%, the data transmission efficiency in the LAN will be significantly reduced. When the NIC device in the LAN is damaged or other network devices are damaged and are not immediately removed from the network, these damaged devices will continuously send broadcast packet information to the network, as a result, a broadcast storm occurs in the network, which slows down the network transmission speed. Otherwise, the whole Lan may be paralyzed. Therefore, if hardware devices in the LAN are accidentally damaged, they can also cause broadcast storms.

When we suspect that there are damaged network hardware devices in the LAN, we must first take a replacement method to temporarily replace the switch or hub device to see if the switch or hub device is damaged; if no fault is found on the switch or hub device, we may close the power supply of these devices, then, in the DOS environment, use the "Ping" command in the Windows system to test the NIC address of each workstation one by one to see if the NIC address of the computer can be pinged, if the IP address of a NIC device cannot be pinged, the NIC device may be damaged. In this case, we may try to replace a new Nic device, I believe that this will restore the local area network data transmission speed to normal. According to my practical experience, Nic devices, switches, or hub devices in the LAN are most prone to hardware damage. Many reasons for slow network transmission are caused by these factors.

Starting from network viruses to speed up the network

In many lan Internet sharing environments, we often cannot resist the crazy worms from the Internet. These viruses have an increasing impact on the data transmission speed of the LAN, in addition, the damage also increases gradually. In particular, Web worms that spread via email often cause infected workstation systems to send spam and virus emails to the network without stopping, then, the network keeps returning junk and virus emails to the workstation system, so that the limited bandwidth resources on the network will soon be exhausted, in this way, there will be obvious information congestion in the LAN network, which will eventually lead to slow network transmission speed. In severe cases, the network will be paralyzed.
