No optical drive or soft zone, and does not support operating system installation tips for laptops started with USB flash drives

 

The service life of the optical drive of the notebook is generally more than a year. In the early days, the USB flash drive was not supported, and many people did not install the drive because it was not commonly used, this kind of notebook is very troublesome when the operating system crashes or a new hard disk, which has plagued the author many times. This time, I will not ask for help, but I will handle it myself. Here I will summarize the process as follows for my colleagues' reference.

The simplest practice is to buy a new laptop with an External Optical Drive and install it on the rack. If you don't want to spend any money, use the simplest method below, which is to install it under DOS.

The first step is to back up data. Remove the hard drive from the current file and attach it to another machine to transfer important information, especially your favorites, Outlook documents, and desktop documents, and the system driver that is backed up when the optimization master is installed.

The second step is to take a look at the hard disk partition format of this book for necessary formatting. At least two FAT32 partitions are required in the hard disk partition, because some DOS software does not support NTF format. Make sure that the system partition to be installed is in FAT32 format. I have not tried NFT format. If it is not in FAT32 format, be sure to format it in FAT32 format. One of the two partitions is the main system installation area (assuming the drive C), and the other is the operating hard disk file or drive (assuming the drive D) to be installed ). After that, create a symbolic file (preferably txt, with a short name and easy to recognize in DOS) for the system area (drive C ). The main files to be copied for the D drive partition are: smartdrv. EXE and i386 folders. The smartdrv. EXE file can be obtained from the Win98 series installation disk, or downloaded from the Internet. The i386 folder is the core of the operating system disk to be loaded, and the serial number of the system disk is recorded.

Step 3 install the DOS system for this document. FirstDesktopInstalled on the DOS software, now the latest seems to be a MS-DOS7.0, installed, restart to DOS, for this to be installed partition (identified file partition such as the assumption of the C: disk) format. The format command is:

Format C:/S/Q

The purpose is to quickly format the disk and retain the DOS file. After formatting, you can see the commond file.

Step 4: install the system for this document. Remove this hard disk from the desktop, load it, and then start it. In the DOS environment, transfer it to D: disk partition, and install smartdrv. run smartdrv again.. Go to the i386 folder, view the EXE file (input dir *. EXE), and run winnt. EXE. Enter the normal Installation File. The installation of the operating system is complete.

Note: Remember the serial number of the installed operating system.

Make sure to input the samrtdrv twice in DOS to run the hardware accelerator program.

This method is also applicable to changing a large hard disk.
