When you edit C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\profile.ps1 with Notepad, Notepad opens and the content displayed with notepad++ is different. Notepad is turned on correctly, seemingly notepad++ does not have permission to open and save. The specific reason is unclear.

Files created with notepad++ run to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0 this directory, note SysWoW64
