Notes for installing virtualbox virtual machines

Recently, all computers need to be added to the domain. In order to facilitate the operation, we have prepared to install two virtual machines to simulate possible problems. Several minor problems have occurred during the installation process, it is recorded for future use.

The Virtual Machine software uses virtualbox and version 4.2.0. The host is the 32-bit flagship version of Windows 7. The two virtual machines installed are XP, and the other is ghostxp_sp3_y6.0 of Yulin Fengfeng, the other is Microsoft's official SP3 version, and the above two are saved in the ISO file format of the CD image.

Install virtualbox 4.2, create a new virtual machine, specify the hard disk as 10 Gb, divided into two zones, one 8 GB, one 2 GB, attach the CD image to the optical drive and then install it.

Problem 1: The installed ghostversion winxp_sp3 cannot be started.

Processing: after starting the drive using the winpe that comes with the CD, check that the drive C is active, but it still cannot be started. After using the partition work to rewrite the MBR, the operation is successful.

Problem 2: The video adapter does not work properly

Processing: click "device"> "Install enhancement feature". The system automatically loads a CD in the Virtual Machine and double-click the content to install the CD. After restart, the video adapter works normally.

Problem 3: The network adapter does not work properly

Processing: After the enhancement function is installed, the network adapter is still abnormal. Select "Update driver ".Program"--" Install from list or specified location "--" Do not search, I want to select the driver to install "-- select" amd pcnet family PCI Ethernet Adapter ", OK

Problem 4: The network is always disconnected.

Processing: the virtual machine setting-Network-connection mode is "bridging", and the IP address, mask, and DNS are set as required by the LAN.

After the installation is complete, use the "Export Virtual Computer" method to export the installed pure virtual machine as an ova file. If you need to test it later, you can import it directly.
