Notes for installing vs team Foundation Server

To install team Foundation server, you must first install IIS, SQL Server 2005,. NET Framework 2.0, and SharePoint service 2. Before installation, we recommend that you read the tfsinstall_v060428.chm file in the TFS installation media and install it step by step according to the installation instructions.

The following are some small details about installation failure that I did not notice during installation. These are described in the TFS installation instructions. Here, only the TFS trial versions downloaded from the Microsoft website are listed for the installer's attention ):

1. About IIS
1. frangpage 2002 server extension cannot be installed in IIS.
2. ASP. NET must be enabled for IIS.

Ii. About SQL Server 2005
1. When installing SQL Server 2005, select the default instance and use the built-in system account-local system. Select Windows authentication. Sorting rules cannot be case sensitive.
2. Install the patch in the sqlserverkb directory of the TFS installation disk.

Iii. About. NET Framework 2.0
1. Install the patch in the kb913393 directory of the TFS installation disk.

Iv. About SharePoint service 2
1. The installation program of SharePoint service 2 must be run by the System user who installed TFs.
2. Install the sp2 patch for SharePoint service 2.
3. Select "server farm" for the installation type ".
