Notes on CLNS Router Protocol knowledge

There are many other things worth learning about the Router Protocol. Here we mainly introduce the details of the CLNS Router Protocol. The full name of CLNS is "Connectionless Network Service" (Connectionless Network Service ), it is a layer-3rd service designed for layer-4 oSI protocol-"connectionless network protocol" (CLNF. Here, we do not plan to run any 0SI protocol (9th rows )!

TPx is a Novell protocol. This vro protocol is used most of the time as long as the network has a server running NoveH NetWare or IntraNetWare. We plan to adopt this Router Protocol in our demonstration inter-network. Therefore, answer Yes (row 10th) to this question ). After IPx is enabled, the IPx RIP Router Protocol is automatically used.

VINES is short for "VirtualIntegrated Network SerYices" (Virtual Integrated Network Service or Virtual Integrated Network Service), a vro protocol from Banyan. We do not plan to run VINES (line 1) yet ). XNS stands for Xerox Network Systems, a Network protocol designed by Xerox. We are also not prepared to run XNS (row 12th ). Problems related to Apollo refer to the Apollo Domain protocol used in the Apollo workstation environment. We do not plan to run the Apollo Domain Router Protocol (line 1 ).

For the vro protocols we enabled in the initial configuration, since network messages from them can be routed through their 3rd-layer address, it is not necessary to start bridging now, answer No (policy 14 ). Cisco 2520 has an isdn brj interface. If you want to use it, you must tell I0S the type of the 1SDN switch connected to BRJ. The ISDN switch type should be provided by the ISDN service supplier. In the initial configuration, we do not plan to use BRJ, so the answer is none (row 15th ).

Interface Parameters

Now, let's start to tell IOS which interfaces in the router are used. For each interface, "system configuration dialog" will ask the following question: "Is this intedace in use ?" (Is this interface in use ?) Because the vro is brand new, no interface is used currently. You can explain this question as "do you want to use this interface now ?" According to the plan, the interfaces to be used on Danas are Ethernet0 and serial1.

For each interface in the initial configuration, basic information related to the vro protocol must be provided. In the "Global Parameters" mentioned above, we have pointed out the Router Protocol we want to run. The dialog interface used to configure the interface is displayed. In the initial configuration, there is no need to use the interface BRJ0 (4th rows ).
