Notes on installing Oracle 10g R2 instances in Solaris 10 U3

Source: Internet
Author: User

While I was unable to upgrade my laptop to 1 GB of memory, I was suffering from installing Sun Solaris 10 U3 + Oracle 10g R2 in my current book, I got a laptop for the competition, haha ...... Comfortable. The following is my Installation Record Based on Quick Installation officially provided by Oracle.

Hardware:
DELL D400
CPU: PM 1.6 cache 2 M
RAM: 512 M on board + 512 M for a single entry = 1024 M
HDD: Fujitsu 40 GB
LCD: 12 "1024*768
LAN: 100 m lan + 54 M WLAN

Software:
Sun Solaris 10 Update 3 (11/06)
Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.2)

I will not talk about the steps for installing the operating system, because it is not installed on a virtual machine ...... Therefore, it cannot be provided. Sorry. However, there are a lot of things about Solaris installation on the network, so it should be difficult to find out. Here, I will focus on the partition situation:/allocated 20G (20552) space, and SWAP allocated 2G (2055) space, the remaining space is/export/home, which is about 15 GB (15500.

After installing the operating system, we ignore the security settings and optimizations we need to perform and install Oracle directly. The specific steps are as follows:

# Cd/
# Ls
Desktop cdrom export lost + found platform tmp
Documents dev home mnt proc usr
Bin devices kernel net sbin var
Boot etc lib opt system vol

The following steps are explicitly required for Quick Installation. The following 11 packages are all required for Installation. If you check whether the Installation is complete, run the following command:
# Pkginfo-I SUNWarc SUNWbtool SUNWhea SUNWlibm SUNWlibms SUNWsprot SUNWtoo SUNWi1of SUNWi1cs SUNWi15cs SUNWxwfnt
System SUNWarc Lint Libraries (usr)
System SUNWbtool CCS tools bundled with SunOS
System SUNWhea SunOS Header Files
System SUNWi1of ISO-8859-1 (Latin-1) Optional Fonts
System SUNWlibm Math & Microtasking Library Headers & Lint Files (Usr)
System SUNWlibms Math & Microtasking Libraries (Usr)
System SUNWsprot Solaris Bundled tools
System SUNWtoo Programming Tools
System SUNWxwfnt X Window System platform required fonts
Error: No "SUNWi1cs" information found
Error: No "SUNWi15cs" information found

Obviously, the above prompts that two packages are not installed, so we will execute the following command to install them directly from the installation disc. The following/cdrom/sol_10_1106_x86 is my installation disc, solaris 10 is still doing a good job. It can be used directly after the disc is put, without the need to mount it.
