On the Win8 Metro start interface, the application shortcut is displayed as a tile. by clicking the tile, we can quickly access the application. By default, the system displays the number of rows of the default tile based on the resolution path on the screen.
The mini-Editor uses a 15-inch notebook with a resolution of 1440X900. Therefore, the default tile line is 5.
If your resolution reaches 1920X1200, and you think the default tile shows too few lines, you can use the following method to display more tile lines.
On the Metro start interface, use the Win + C key combination to open the Charm toolbar-settings-tile-display more tiles. If you want to increase or decrease the number of tile lines at will, you can modify the registry.
Win + R open and run, enter regedit to open the registry, and locate the address HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ ImmersiveShell \ Grid
Create a DWORD (32-bit) and rename it to Layout_Maximumrowcount. Enter the number of rows of the tile (tile) You want to modify in the value data. Modify the number of tile lines to 3.
Note: whether you are a 64-bit Win8 system or a 32-bit Win8 system, choose to create a DWORD (32-bit). Each screen resolution has its corresponding tile (tile) the maximum and minimum values of the number of rows can only be set within this range. For specific ranges, see the first graph.
After you modify the registry and save the settings, log out and log on again or restart your computer.
