When the new US President Barack Obama is about to take office, he wrote an emotional open letter to two immature daughters, apologizing for failing to stay with them for more than half of the past two years, I also explained why I chose the road to the White House.

This letter was published on the weekend colorful edition of The Grand View magazine (parade. The full text is as follows:

'What I want for you-and every child in America'
By President-elect Barack Obama
Publication date: 01/14/2009

Next Tuesday, Barack Obama will be sworn in as our 44th president. On
This historic occasion, parade asked the president-elect, who is also
Ted family man, to get personal and tell us what he wants for his
Children. Here, he shares his letter to them.

Dear Malia and Sasha,

I know that you 've both had a lot of fun these last two years on
Campaign trail, going to pictureand parades and state fairs, eating
All sorts of junk food your mother and I probably shouldn't have let
You have. But I also know that it hasn' t always been easy for you and
Mom, and that as excited as you both are about that new puppy, it
Doesn't make up for all the time we 've ve been apart. I know how much I 've ve
Missed these past two years, and today I want to tell you a little more
About why I decided to take our family on this journey.

When I was a young man, I thought life was all about me-about how I 'd
Make my way in the world, become successful, and get the things I want.
But then the two of you came into my world with all your curiosity and
Mischief and those smiles that never fail to fill my heart and light up
My day. And suddenly, all my big plans for myself didn't seem so
Important anymore. I soon found that the greatest joy in my life was
The joy I saw in yours. And I realized that my own life wouldn't count
For much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity
Happiness and fulfillment in yours. In the end, girls, that's why I ran
For president: because of what I want for you and for every child in
This nation.

I want all our children to go to schools worthy of their
Potential-schools that challenge them, inspire them, and instill in
Them a sense of wonder about the world around them. I want them to have
The chance to go to college-even if their parents aren't rich. And I
Want them to get good jobs: jobs that pay well and give them benefits
Like health care, jobs that let them spend time with their own kids and
Retire with dignity.

I want us to push the boundaries of discovery so that you'll live
See New Technologies and exceptions that improve our lives and make our
Planet cleaner and safer. And I want us to push our own human
Boundaries to reach beyond the divides of race and region, gender and
Religion that keep us from seeing the best in each other.

Sometimes we have to send our young men and women into war and other
Dangerous situations to protect our country-but when we do, I want
Make sure that it is only for a very good reason, that we try our best
To settle our differences with others peacefully, and that we do
Everything possible to keep our servicemen and women safe. And I want
Every child to understand that the blessings these brave Americans
Fight for are not free-that with the great privilege of being a citizen
Of this nation comes great responsibility.

That was the lesson your grandmother tried to teach me when I was your
Age, reading me the opening lines of the Declaration of Independence
And telling me about the men and women who marched for compliance ity because
They believed those words put to paper two centuries ago shold mean
Something.

She helped me understand that America is great not because it is
Perfect but because it can always be made better-and that
Unfinished work of perfecting our Union falls to each of us. It's
Charge we pass on to our children, coming closer with each new
Generation to what we know America shocould be.

I hope both of you will take up that work, righting the wrongs that you
See and working to give others the chances you 've had. Not just because
You have an obligation to give something back to this country that has
Given our family so much-although you do have that obligation.
Because you have an obligation to yourself. Because it is only when you
Hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you will
Realize your true potential.

These are the things I want for you-to grow up in a world with no
Limits on your dreams and no achievements beyond your reach, and
Grow into compassionate, committed women who will help build that
World. And I want every child to have the same chances to learn and
Dream and grow and thrive that you girls have. That's why I 've taken
Our family on this great adventure.

I am so proud of both of you. I love you more than you can ever know.
And I am grateful every day for your patience, poise, grace, and humor
As we prepare to start our new life together in the White House.

Love, Dad

The Chinese translation of the full text is as follows:

Dear Maria and Sasha:

I know that you have had a lot of fun in your campaign with me over the past two years. You have had a picnic, parade, or visit the State Expo and have eaten all kinds of junk food that your mom and I should not have asked you to eat. However, I also know that you two and your Mother's Day are sometimes uncomfortable. Although new puppies make you feel excited, they cannot make up for all the times when we were not together. I understand that I have missed too much in the past two years. Today I want to tell you why I decided to lead our family on this journey.

When I was young, I thought that life should turn around me: How can I develop my own business in this world and get what I want. Later, the two of you entered my world, and all kinds of curiosity, naughty, and smiling may fill my heart and light up my days. Suddenly, the great plan I wrote for myself was no longer that important. I soon discovered that the happiness I see in your life is the greatest happiness in my own life. At the same time, I realized that my own life would not be of much value if I could not ensure that you have all the opportunities to pursue happiness and self-fulfillment in your life. All in all, this is why my daughter runs for the Presidency: I want you two and every child in this country to have what I want to give them.

I want all the children to attend in schools where they can discover their potential. These schools want to challenge them, inspire them, and instill their curiosity about the world they are in. I want them to have a chance to go to college, for fear that their parents are not rich. Moreover, I want them to find good jobs: jobs with high salaries and health insurance, so that they can spend time with their children and retire with dignity.

I want you to challenge the limits of discovery so that you can see new technologies and inventions that improve our lives, make the planet clean and safer in your lifetime. I also want everyone to challenge their interpersonal boundaries, so that we do not see the race, region, gender, and religious barriers of each other's strengths.

Sometimes in order to protect our country, we have to send young men and women to battlefields or other dangerous places. However, when we do this, I want to make sure that our teachers are famous, we have done our best to resolve disputes with others in a peaceful manner, and we have done everything we can to ensure the security of men and women. I want every child to understand that the well-being defended by brave Americans on the battlefield cannot be achieved in vain: the greater responsibility that comes when they enjoy the great privilege of serving as citizens of this country.

This is exactly what my grandmother wanted to teach me at your age. She read me the first few lines of the declaration of independence and told me that some men and women have come forward to protest for equality, because they thought that the sentences written in black and white two centuries ago should not be empty talk.

She told me that America is so great, not because it is perfect, but because we can keep making it better, and let it do better and unfinished work, it falls on each of us. This is the responsibility we give to our children. Every generation is closer to us.

I hope both of you are willing to take over the job and find ways to correct the mistakes and try to help others get the opportunities you have. This is not because the country has given us so much, but because you have the obligation to yourself. Because, only when you put your carriage on something bigger can you understand your real potential.

These are the things I want you to get: grow up in a world with unlimited dreams, with nothing to do, and grow up with compassion, stick to your ideals, women who can help build such a world. I want every child to have the same opportunity to learn, dream, grow and develop as you do. This is why I led our family to take this adventure.

I am very proud of you. You will never understand how much I love you. When we plan to start a new life together at the White House, I have never been grateful for your patience, calmness, reason, and humor.

Love your father
