Obtain the patent certificate and discuss the commercialization of domestic software

The patent certificate that I just obtained is a bit vanity:

I did not apply for an agent for this patent application. I wrote all the documents myself. At that time, I did not find an agent that understands the Testing Technology in Guangzhou. It seems that the application file is not well written, and there are many areas that need improvement. Fortunately, the review process was quite smooth and only one request for permission was modified. This change is also expected. As a strategy, the protection scope of rights requirements is generally larger. After receiving the review comments, the changes are made based on the examiner's suggestions. The review takes a long time, mainly because of my own failure. The review fee will be paid during the deadline. I have some experience in how to apply for a patent. If a friend needs some suggestions, I will do my best.

The "software productization, pain in IT people in China" written by Meng shengguang Xia has aroused everyone's resonance, zhu Jincan's roadmap of software productization in China outlines the Five Principles of mengwen as two keywords: market demand and technology. I agree with them. My patents also reflect some of our ideas and persistence in productization. So I will also share my experiences and opinions on productization.

I am also engaged in Project outsourcing before I participate in product development. The general route from project to product is to build projects in a field, accumulate funds and technologies, and then productize the projects. We are quite special. During outsourcing, projects are very complicated and there is no technical accumulation. When we switch to products, we are doing unit test tools, which is purely unintentional. At that time, most of our project members were working part-time, not working together. At that time, network communication was far from convenient, as well as powerful remote collaboration tools, and testers were not strong. Although I didn't know much about the benefits of unit testing at first, in order to ensure quality and distinguish responsibility, I decided that everyone should test the code they wrote. I couldn't find a proper unit test tool, so I had to develop it myself and improve it while using it. I was the first developer of this tool. A few years later, I thought unit testing was really good, and our tools were fully developed based on practicality. It felt quite good to use, so I productized this unit testing tool, the project will not be used later.

We believe that product competition is ultimately a battle of strength, including talent, capital, technology, brand, management, corporate culture, and the most important thing in China: relationship. There must be at least one advantage to win. Which of the following products of our small team must compete with large foreign companies? None of the above is possible. Only technology has a chance. Is it difficult to overwhelm international giants technically? Of course, it is very difficult, but this is the only thing that can be done in the entrepreneurial stage. This is where the first line of life lies, and nothing else is a competitor. We have little strength and can concentrate on it. After a little time, we still have hope for a breakthrough. As a matter of fact, we have partially done this.

Some people say that Chinese software is used away in the Chinese market, and I think it is too optimistic. Our market experience is: with the same features, the price of domestic software is only 1/3, so users will not hesitate to choose foreign software. Of course, this is the market experience in the field of development/testing tools. In this field, the market is especially bad for domestic software. The objective reason is that most people use foreign tools and there is almost no concept of domestic tools, let alone confidence. It is unrealistic to count on national brands for support. On the contrary, users are more picky about domestic software than foreign software, for which I think I can understand: I have no confidence in domestic software. Media is also widely harsh on domestic software: an article of the same quality, if it is about foreign technology, it will be hot, if it is about domestic technology, it will be regarded as advertising. Cddn has increased support for domestic software in recent years, which is very valuable and worthy of praise.

What should I do if the market is weak? The only hope is technological breakthroughs. If there are others, I have them. That is not the case. It must be done: if there are others who don't have them, I have them to have hope. Early customers who purchased our products basically share one thing in common: customers who have purchased similar foreign tools and are not satisfied with the use of these tools are forced to put them on hold, we found that some of our products are urgently needed by users, but foreign products do not have functions, so we purchased our products.

In short, to participate in competition, products must have an advantage in some aspects. In other aspects, there is a big gap. Technology is the only possible breakthrough. The Chinese are very smart and need focus, focus, and focus.

Finally, let's talk about patent applications. I have read some comments about patents before. Many people think that the patent system helps large companies achieve monopoly, which is a method to suppress small companies. However, from another perspective, I think the patent system is a icing on the cake for large companies, but it is a treasure for small companies. You have made every effort to develop a new technology. This is the capital of your region's survival. If there is no protection, large companies will take advantage of the advantages of capital and market resources, this capital will soon become useless. How to protect it? Applying for a patent is a good way. But in China, there is also a reality: If your competitors are companies that do not talk about game rules, the value of patents will be greatly reduced. Applying for a patent will make the technology completely open, and you should consider it carefully.
