In a home or small office network, a wireless router is usually directly used to achieve centralized connection and Internet sharing tasks, because the wireless router also has a collection of Wireless AP connection functions. This article will introduce the TP-LINK of a wireless router TL-WR541G in the home wireless network configuration method.
A wireless router is usually an out-of-the-box device, just like a desktop hub or switch in a wired network, so no driver is required. Its configuration is basically Web configuration through a browser. The following is the specific configuration of TL-WR541G wireless router.
Basic configuration for TL-WR541G Wireless Router
1) Use a straight-through twisted pair to insert one of the LAN switching ports of the wireless router. Note: it is not a WAN port) and the other is inserted to the wired Nic RJ-45 interface of a computer.
2) connect to and plug in the wireless router and computer power, enable the computer to enter the system, preferably Windows 2000/XP system ). In the address bar of the IE browser, enter the IP address of the wireless router configured by the manufacturer: 192.168.1.1. The authentication dialog box shown in is displayed.

Because this wireless router provides the wizard-based basic configuration method, the Configuration Wizard is also started when the configuration page is opened. We recommend that you perform the initial configuration in wizard mode. You can configure the most basic options to make the wireless router work in a simple way.
4) Click "Next" in the Wizard to open the dialog box as shown in.
Configure Internet access dialog box
Specify an Internet access method. TP-LINK's wireless router supports three types of Internet access: virtual dial-up ADSL, dynamic IP Ethernet Access and fixed IP Ethernet access. Note that leased line access to ADSL and Cable Modem is not supported. Because most families use ADSL virtual dial-up Internet access, this vro can still be used. Select "ADSL virtual dial-up PPPoE" here.
5) Click "Next" to open the dialog box as shown in.
Configure ADSL account dialog box
In this dialog box, configure the corresponding account for the vdialing ADSL Internet access method specified in the previous step.
Note: If you select the "Ethernet broadband, automatically obtain the IP address dynamic IP address from the network service provider)" option in one step, you will go directly to the next step. If you select "Ethernet broadband, the fixed IP address static IP address provided by the network service provider) option is displayed, as shown in the dialog box. You must configure IP addresses, gateways, and other settings for the leased line Ethernet access method.

6) Click the "Next" button in the dialog box shown in step 2; or in the dialog box shown in step 3, select the "Ethernet broadband, automatically obtain the dynamic IP address from the network service provider)" option, click the "Next" button, or select the "Ethernet broadband, static IP address provided by the network service provider)" option in the dialog box shown in step 3, in the displayed dialog box, click "Next" to open the dialog box as shown in.
"Wireless Settings" dialog box
In this dialog box, set the Wireless Access Point AP. First, select the "enable" option in the "wireless function" drop-down list to enable its wireless receiving and sending functions. Then, enter an SSID number in the text box behind the SSID number, which is equivalent to the Working Group Name of the wired network.
However, after this configuration, the same SSID number must be configured for all clients in the network. Select one from the "band" drop-down list and provide 13 frequencies in the 54Mbps IEEE 802.11g network. The main reason is that different AP networks do not conflict with each other. The frequencies of different AP networks cannot be the same. This meeting has only one AP, so you can choose it at will.
In the "Mode" drop-down list, select "54Mbps802. 11g) "option, because it is compatible with IEEE 802.11b wireless network standards, so this mode can ensure the best network connection performance, it can also ensure that the IEEE 802.11b wireless device of 11 Mbps can be connected to the AP wireless network.
7) Click "Next" to open the wizard completion dialog box as shown in.
Wizard completion dialog box
Click "finish" to complete the basic configuration of the wireless router. In this case, no other complex configurations can be performed, so that the wireless router can work normally. However, in order to build a wireless network with higher security and performance, the following describes the advanced configurations.
