office2010 Installing the Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) diagram
| Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) was removed in Microsoft Office 2010. This article provides steps for installing MODI on your computer, as well as an alternative way to regain some MODI functionality.
Solution to install Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) that you use with Microsoft Office 20,101, select one of the following methods: Method 1: Install SharePoint Designer 20 07 Installation modisharepoint Designer 2007 is free to download from the Microsoft Download Center. To download SharePoint Designer 2007 and install only the MODI in it, follow these steps:
- download and run from this location SharePointDesigner.exe file:
Download SharePoint Designer
- review and accept the software license.
- Click Customize to open the installation options.

- expand Office Tools.
- Click the down arrow for the Microsoft Office Document Imaging option, and select Run all from My computer.

This screen shows the location of MODI in the process of installing SharePoint Designer 2007: To start Microsoft Office Document Imaging, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then select All Programs.
- Click Microsoft Office, and then select Microsoft Office Tools.
- Click Microsoft Office Document Imaging.
Method 2: Install MODI using the Office system media to use MODI and Office 20,101 in the Office system, follow these steps:
- Start the Office System installation process.
- Review and accept the software license.
- Click Customize to open the installation options.
- On the Installation Options tab, click the down arrow to select all sections as not available.
- Expand Office Tools.
- Click the down arrow for the Microsoft Office Document Imaging option, and select Run all from My computer.
- Click Install Now, and then click Close.
This screen shows the location of MODI during the installation of the Office system: to start Microsoft Office Document Imaging, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then select All Programs.
- Click Microsoft Office, and then select Microsoft Office Tools.
- Click Microsoft Office Document Imaging.
