Objective:
The first thing to be clear, the system encapsulation operation of the source computer is generally a virtual machine (virtual machines, VMS, etc.), which is why we have to learn the first chapter of the encapsulation tutorial on the virtual machine-related knowledge of the reasons.
There are three advantages to using virtual machines:
1, easy to system installation, backup and other operations, can add more than one computer of different systems, easy to test and use;
2, the hardware composition is simple, will not affect the source system image compatibility due to individual special hardware; <--is important .
3, save the computer resources, do not need to specifically use a computer to do the packaging environment, or use a working computer as the packaging environment.
Additional, Easy Sysprep v4 (ES4) 's basic test environment is the VMware Player and VMware Workstation environments, in which the ES4 will have the most complete stability, compatibility, and availability. In this chapter, we recommend a free, simple, and compact VMware player virtual machine, and share experience with you.
(i) VMware Player
Some readers may have questions about why we recommend VMware Player instead of VMware Workstation?
(1) VMware Player is a free virtual machine product offered by VMware, while VMware Workstation is a chargeable commercial product;
(2) The latest VMware player has been able to create and run virtual machines on its own, instead of being the only product that can run and not create virtual machines;
(3) VMware Player has less functionality than VMware Workstation, but is sufficient for system encapsulation;
(4) VMware Player has a smaller footprint and consumes less system resources than VMware Workstation.
VMware Player: Official download, Baidu Web Drive
Reminder: In the official, please select the version that is appropriate for Windows (VMware Player has linux-enabled version)
<ignore_js_op>
After the installation of the download must be difficult for everyone, so here is no longer nonsense we will all things.

Other precautions:
(1) VMware Player cannot coexist with other VMware products, such as VMware Workstation 6/7/8, or the installation will be error-related;
(2) VMware Player does not have a multilingual version, only the English version;
(3) If VMware Workstation 9 is already installed, the latest version of VMware Player is installed automatically, and there is no need to install it again.
(ii) Creation of virtual machines
The process of creating a virtual machine is relatively straightforward, similar to the process of creating a virtual machine with VMware Workstation.
1. Run VMware Player and select "Create a New Virtual machine"(Create a new virtual machine)
<ignore_js_op>
2, select how to install the operating system, select the "I'll install the Operaiton system later"(I will install the operating system later)
<ignore_js_op>
Why Choose "I will install the operating system later"?
VMware Player automatically detects the type of system in the original system image, enabling a set of so-called "Easy Install" systems to automatically install the system for you, or even install the system automatically without asking how to partition it. This is not friendly to the system encapsulation we need to highly customize, so it is highly recommended to select "I will install the operating system later".
3. Select the type of operating system that will be installed, take WinXP as an example, we select "Windows XP Professional". ThatSelect a system type that is consistent or similar to the operating system that will be installed。
<ignore_js_op>
4, set the name of the virtual machine and save location (the default is the C drive, the virtual machine files are generally very large, it is recommended to choose non-system disk)
<ignore_js_op>
5, set the maximum value of this virtual machine hard disk, the default is 40G
<ignore_js_op>
(1) Assuming that the drive is set to 40G,The virtual machine does not immediately take up 40G from the hard drive, it consumes as much as it uses, and the maximum value is 40G;
(2) The following two options are set to save the virtual machine as a single file or multiple files, which remains the default.
6, the virtual machine is set up, an information overview appears, check the information, click the "Finish" button, the virtual machine will be created.
<ignore_js_op>
(iii) Tuning virtual machine hardware
Adjusting the virtual machine's hardware to better fit the system package, the principle of adjustment is:Minimizing non-essential hardware
1. Select the virtual machine you just created, and clickEdit Virtual machine settings"(Edit virtual machine settings)
<ignore_js_op>
2. The left frame shows the hardware of the current virtual machine, and the right side shows the information of the selected hardware.
<ignore_js_op>
3. Remove non-essential hardware, such as floppy drive, USB controller, sound card, printer, etc. by using the "Remove" button
<ignore_js_op>
4. After removing nonessential hardware, the system of minimizing hardware is formed.(You can also delete the network card if you do not need the network operation)
<ignore_js_op>
5. Configuring memory
<ignore_js_op>
Configure the memory size according to the configuration of the host computer and the virtual machine system requirements:
(1) winxp system memory recommended 512M~1G
(2) WIN7/8 system memory recommended 1.5G~2G
(3) If the host computer configuration is low, the virtual machine memory configuration can be reduced appropriately
(4) If the memory is too small, it will affect the running smoothness of the virtual machine .
6. Configure the number of CPU cores
<ignore_js_op>
Configure the number of CPU cores based on the configuration of the host computer and the virtual machine system requirements:
(1) winxp system and the core;
(2) WIN7/8 system of the core;
(3) If the host computer configuration is low, the number of CPU cores can be appropriately reduced;
(4) CPU cores are too few, which will affect the running smoothness of virtual machine;
(5) If the host CPU single core computing power is strong, can reduce the number of cores, conversely, increase.
7. Select the system ISO image on the hard drive to load the virtual machine's optical drive
<ignore_js_op>
8, click the OK button in, the virtual machine hardware configuration is set to complete
<ignore_js_op>
(d) adjusting the virtual machine BIOS
Adjusting the virtual machine's BIOS to better fit the system package, the principle of adjustment is:reduce nonessential controllers, ports, adjust first boot device to CDROM。
1. Start the virtual machine and enter the BIOS settings
<ignore_js_op>
(1) Click "Play Virtual machine(Start the virtual machine), or click the green triangle in the upper UI, the virtual machine will start.
(2) After the boot, the mouse click into the virtual machine, quickly press F2, enter the virtual machine BIOS settings (if failed, can retry repeatedly)
2. On the main page, set the floppy drive to Disabled (disabled)
<ignore_js_op>
<ignore_js_op>
3. Advanced page, enter I/O device Configuration options, set IO devices
(note that the serial port of the IO device refers to the common port on the back of the motherboard, not the serial port of the hard drive)
<ignore_js_op>
(1) Set the serial port to Disabled (disabled)
<ignore_js_op>
<ignore_js_op>
(2) According to this method, the serial port A, serial port B, the same port, the floppy disk controller are all set to disable
<ignore_js_op>
4. On the boot page, adjust the boot order. Adjustment method: Through the upper and lower buttons to select the device, by adding the minus sign to adjust the sequencing
<ignore_js_op>
Set the optical drive as the first boot and the hard drive as the second boot
<ignore_js_op>
5. On the exit page, select "Exit Saving Changes" (Exit and save changes), choose Yes to exit and restart
<ignore_js_op>
Speaking of the above steps, a virtual machine for encapsulation is created. To create a virtual machine that is suitable for encapsulation, there is only one principle, " reduce unnecessary hardware ," or " minimize the hardware system ."
The simpler the source computer hardware, the smaller the impact on the target computer. The advanced drive unloading technology is not as secure as a virtual machine with a minimalist hardware.
After the virtual machine is created, you can start installing the operating system, as we have set up the boot from the CD-ROM and have loaded the system ISO into the CD-ROM drive, so the virtual machine will go directly to the system installation interface after booting. Follow the steps you're familiar with to start installing the system!

Small reminder:
(1) generally divided into 2 districts, a system area, a data area;
(2) The data area needs to be used for packaging software, as well as the resulting system image, so it should not be too small;
(3) WinXP, recommended system area 6~10g, data area 20~30g;
(4) WIN7/8, recommended system area 25~35g, data area 35~45g.
