Okular, a popular pdf reader in Ubuntu

Source: Internet
Author: User

Environment: physical machine + ubuntu12.04

The built-in reader evince is a lightweight PDF Reader (only occupies 11 MB of space and okular occupies 149 MB), which can meet basic functional requirements. However, there is a problem that has recently caused me a headache. The background will always be highlighted in white. Reading the chip manual or schematic may cause a lot of damage to my eyes after a long time. So I found another pdf reader on the Internet. It is said that I had chosen okular, a popular reader for Linux, But I didn't try it.
1. Use command line to install

sudo apt-get install okular
After installation, check that the software version is 0.14.3 and using KDE development platform 4.8.5. This version does not support the Chinese language mentioned on the Internet. It is estimated that it has been fixed. It seems that the packages required for Chinese font support will be installed by default during installation. If the problem is not supported by Chinese characters, poppler-data and poppler-utils will be installed on the Internet, however, I found that they have been installed.

The interface after the mini2440 User Manual is opened is displayed in both Chinese and English:

2. Set the background color
The background color in is the light yellow color after I change it. The change method is as follows:

Settings --> Configure okular --> accessibility, select change colors, select change paper color in color mode, and click the box next to paper color. The color selection box is displayed,
Fill in # fffde8 in the HTML in the lower-right corner, and then OK --> apply --> OK.

Now, the background color of the PDF document has been changed to light yellow.

I found the only weakness for the time being: the image definition is slightly poor, and the font is thinner and fuzzy than evince. The following is a comparison chart. The former is evince, and the latter is okular.

Note: The loading speed of okular will be slightly slower.
