On the color blending ideas of the late-stage small fresh film style

A lot of friends asked me how the tone of my photo was tuned. Simply share. The late tools I use are Photoshop and Lightroom. The overall tone of my picture is quite uniform, because the latter have done the same method, in fact very simple.

My color idea is to simulate the film Fuji's sweep code tones. This kind of picture everybody to look, below is I use the film to shoot the effect, has not been any color matching. (Camera: T3 film: Fuji 2000, negative)

There are several features:

1. High brightness

2, Low saturation

3. Have granular sense

4, the person thinks the green is very beautiful

What we need to do is: lighten up, reduce saturation, and make film particles.

Because of working relationship, I often use PS, considering PS more professional, learning cost is high, or use LIGHTROOM5 to lift the chestnut bar. Let's take a look at this picture of how I tuned it. First of all you need to understand some of the basic operation of Lightroom, relative and how to pull out this hue, I am more inclined to introduce my palette of ideas, because if you do not know the idea, according to the same parameters to make adjustments, certainly is not up to the effect. Each photo is different, which means that you can't set the same picture with the same parameters. Whether with PS or LR, are just tools, understand the idea, the two methods are consistent, but the operation of a difference.

Later, the difference is not very large, I deliberately selected this one on a cloudy day, the original film and tune over the more obvious, in fact, not every one of these. However, after the later, the photo will still be a lot of color. So, learn it.

1, analysis of photos. This photo was taken on a cloudy day, natural light, no one shone. So the overall exposure is insufficient. Look at the histogram (histogram is important, the camera also has, you can see the exposure) right is very obvious.

2, adjust exposure. On the right side of LR toolbar basic options here, you can see the exposure of this sliding block, slide right, increase to 1.2 or so. See the photo is obviously brightening up. (Conversely, if it is too explosive, slide to the left and reduce exposure.) )

3, adjust the color temperature. Because it is in the indoor cloudy shoot, the overall some partial yellow. The dim feeling. Adjust the color temperature to the right, so that it is on the bright side. Then observe, because the right side of the photo is not reflective, the shadow is heavy, so I turn the shadow up, in order to make it not too bright, but also reduce the high light. After adjusting the shadow, you need to fine-tune the white and black levels. Make it balanced.

These parameters are not fixed, we can try at will, the effect is very subtle. We see a lot of light on the plate.

4, tonal fine-tuning. Basically, the brightness of the picture is almost the same after the above adjustment. But I want a little warm feeling, so fine-tune the lower tonal curve. The whole is a little warmer, isn't it.

5, the color adjustment. The color of this picture is relatively small, mainly green a lot. Then we mainly adjust the green to see, the hue is high, see the green changes. It's gorgeous, yes, the film feels a little bit.

As mentioned earlier, a film is characterized by a very low saturation, the saturation of the low, green immediately feel soft and comfortable a lot.

Similarly, the other color adjustment ideas are the same, I only adjust the green here. If it's a colorful picture, try to adjust the other colors. There will be a lot of unexpected effects.

6, sharpening. Add some sharpening and the image will have HDR feeling. Adjust the radius and detail in the look of the feeling.

7, increase the sense of particles. The feeling of the film is a sense of particles, I like to add a little bit better.

Basically these steps, a picture is adjusted. If you have mastered the train of thought and proficiency, a few minutes will be adjusted.
