Fault symptom:
When you open a webpage or a new tab, it will remain in the "Connect to..." stage until several seconds before loading the webpage content. Performance will deteriorate over time.
Cause analysis:
For example, the Windows system slows down because of the redundant registry entry and startup program, and the IE browser slows down because of unnecessary add-ons and unnecessary tools.
Solution:
If you have encountered such a problem, try the following solution:
-
Disable suspicious toolbar and extensions.
On the toolbar, click"Tools", Select"Manage Add-ons".
(If the toolbar is invisible, you can press the combination key"Alt + T)
Open"Manage Add-ons"Window,Add-on type"And select"Toolbar and extensions". Then pull the slider to the right. At the end of each add-on, we can see the loading time. As shown in the following figure:
- Check which items are time-consuming.
Generally, the time is normal within 1 second. If the length is longer, disable it.
To disable an add-on, click Select, right-click, and selectDisable".
[PS: Some colleagues may ask which add-ons can be disabled? Does it affect the normal operation of IE?
To answer this question, first go to"Display"Select"Currently loaded add-on". All the add-ons listed on the right (required add-ons for IE 8 are not shown in this column) can be disabled. In the latter step, can we enable some add-ons even if they are required in the future?]
- Disable unnecessary accelerator tools.
In addition to disabling long-time add-ons, you can also remove unwanted accelerators to speed up webpage loading.
On the left side of the add-on management window,Add-on type"And select"Accelerator". After listing the specific items in the window on the right, select the unnecessary items, right-click and select"Disable"Or"Delete".
This is basically the case. The slow loading speed of IE 8 Web pages is mainly caused by some third-party add-ons. The processing speed is naturally faster.
