SharePoint 2013 is a collaborative environment that can be used by organizations of all sizes to improve the efficiency of business processes. The SharePoint 2013 website provides a secure environment for administrators to configure these environments to provide personalized access to documents and other information. The search function enables users to efficiently search for content without considering the physical location of data. Starting today, we will share with you a series of documents such as the installation and configuration of SharePoint Server 2013. I hope you can exchange more information and make progress together. If you cannot write well, I hope you can give us valuable comments.
Starting from SharePoint 2013, we will introduce you to the version, basic topology, hardware system deployment requirements, learning materials, and download links of some commonly used software. Try to get started with SharePoint 2013.
1. Version
In SharePoint, users often struggle with version Issues. SharePoint 2013 has three versions: Free Foundation, paid standard edition, and Enterprise Edition. Their functions are different, after finding some information, I found the following table, which clearly describes the differences between different versions. Let's take a look. If you want to see the original version, click the link at the end to download the PDF file. 650) this. width = 650; "src =" http://img1.51cto.com/attachment/201411/7/8959108_1415363917mD1e.png "/>

The above table shows the versions of SharePoint and the corresponding release date. Although the latest version is a cumulative update released on April 9, June 2014, we recommend that you use the SharePoint 2013 SP1 version in the enterprise environment.
2. Basic Topology
The topology uses the layer as a model to reasonably arrange these servers based on the components hosted by the farm server or their roles in the farm. The SharePoint 2013 server farm is deployed on one, two, or three layers, as shown below:
In single-layer deployment, SharePoint 2013 and database servers are installed on one computer.
In a dual-layer deployment, the SharePoint 2013 component and database are installed on different servers. This deployment type applies to the so-calledSmall server farm. The front-end Web server is located at the first layer, and the database server is located at the second layer. In the computer industry, the first layer is usually called the Web layer. The database server layer is usually called the database layer or the database backend.
In layer-3 deployment, the front-end Web server is located at the first layer, and the application server is located at the second layer. This layer is usually called the application layer, and the database server is located at the third layer. Layer-3 deploymentLarge and medium-sized server farms.
Note: in this series of articles, we will first deploy and configure the dual-layer topology, and then introduce applications of large and medium-sized server farms and high availability in enterprises.
3. Hardware and software requirements
In the current enterprise environment, hardware requirements are not too high. Pay attention to the operating system requirements, software requirements, and SQL requirements during deployment. For details, refer to the official TechNet website, the link is as follows:
Http://technet.microsoft.com/zh-cn/library/cc262485 (v = office.15). aspx
According to the hardware and software requirements, TechNet has already written in great detail on the website, but there are several points to pay attention:
Windows Server 2012 R2 is only supported in the SharePoint Server 2013 Service Pack 1 environment. That is to say, SharePoint Server 2013 (without SP1) is not compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2;
Only the SQL Express version is supported in single-layer deployment;
If you want to use SQL Server 2014, you must install the May 2014 cumulative update. (SQL Server 2012 SP1 is recommended );
How to install essential components offline? During subsequent deployment, we will analyze in detail how to use commands to install SharePoint offline.
4. Experiment environment introduction
This experiment uses the Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environment and requires three servers and two clients. The topology is as follows:

Note: Because Office Web App Server 2013 does not have an SP1 independent installation package, you can only install the Office Web App Server and then apply the SP1 patch again!

Software required for the experiment can be downloaded to the trial version on the Microsoft website. Of course, you can download the software from the following websites:

I believe that through this article, you can fully prepare for the SharePoint journey, download the relevant software in advance, and prepare the environment. We look forward to the next series of deployment and configuration work.
