VMware Converter What's the use?
VMware Converter is a tool that can convert physical computer systems, VMware Other versions of virtual machine images, or third-party virtual machine images into a virtual machine image file, and the resulting image can be used in the company's VMware virtual machine software.

For everyone to better understand the following operation, first describe the network environment, as follows:

Environment explanation: Two hosts, no other, a physical host XP, an ESXi host, in the middle do not any server to do the conversion, I use the simplest, easiest, most understand the network environment, haha!!
1. Let's take a look at the ESXi host now what virtual machine, in order to determine the comparison of XP migration, as follows: (only one Windows Server R2)

2. now we will log on to our XP physical host and install the VMware Converter Software as follows: (step a bit omitted, are next, have some attention place already)

3. after the installation is complete, we can log in, as follows: (User name input to note plus domain name AH)
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/57/49/wKiom1SXlwfRfDGJAAISPS6oids942.jpg "title=" 8.jpg " alt= "Wkiom1sxlwfrfdgjaaisps6oids942.jpg"/>
4. after landing to the interface, we click on "Convert Machine", the following window will pop up, as follows:
IP address or name:192.168.2.2 ( IP addresses for current XP)
Username:lingtong\administrator ( when using XP's administrator)
Password : XXXXX (when using XP Administrator password)
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/57/49/wKiom1SXlx6QqVXvAAEaQxNc-Fw853.jpg "title=" 9.jpg " alt= "Wkiom1sxlx6qqvxvaaeaqxnc-fw853.jpg"/>
5. enter the relevant information for ESXi in the window below and click "NEXT" below:

6. Check that there is already a Windows Server R2 on ESXi, and that you can name the physical Xp host named "Xp.lingtong.com" that you want to migrate past, as follows:
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/57/49/wKiom1SXlzTBAffxAADwIoQm9Fw015.jpg "title=" 11.jpg "alt=" Wkiom1sxlztbaffxaadwioqm9fw015.jpg "/>
7. Select the storage that you want to save to, as follows:
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/57/46/wKioL1SXl-fT-BmuAAD4PJ0EB-o002.jpg "title=" 12.jpg "alt=" Wkiol1sxl-ft-bmuaad4pj0eb-o002.jpg "/>
8. at this point, according to the actual needs, click on the corresponding "edit", modify the configuration of the virtual machine, and continue to click "NEXT" as follows: (I will not modify, default direct NEXT)
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/57/49/wKiom1SXl0uRR6mmAAFMuyEje2Y458.jpg "title=" 13.jpg "alt=" Wkiom1sxl0urr6mmaafmuyeje2y458.jpg "/>
9. below you can see the corresponding configuration information of the physical machine, and click "Finish" to start the conversion, as follows:
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/57/46/wKioL1SXl__Qeaj4AAFUzWlbrgY217.jpg "title=" 14.jpg "alt=" Wkiol1sxl__qeaj4aafuzwlbrgy217.jpg "/>
10. here is the wait for completion, in the transition state, as follows:
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/57/46/wKioL1SXmAnSr6IvAAElovOqyU0142.jpg "title=" 15.jpg "alt=" Wkiol1sxmansr6ivaaelovoqyu0142.jpg "/>
11. after the successful conversion, we can already see the WinXP system on ESXi, as follows:
650) this.width=650; "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/57/49/wKiom1SXl2yQ9eZdAAFBA3VDsX0188.jpg "title=" 16.jpg "alt=" Wkiom1sxl2yq9ezdaafba3vdsx0188.jpg "/>
Big confession has become, haha, has the physical machine XP migrated to ESXi, it seems that is not very simple!! At this point we first do not start the virtual machine immediately, but the physical machine on the network cable off, or power off, because the physical machine is not moved, or the same as the original, to avoid IP address conflicts.
The above network environment because it is relatively simple, if some companies have more than 30 physical machines to turn into virtual machines, in fact, you can first install a conversion server on it.
