One of the workarounds for the Office 365 synchronization user display name is incorrect

Source: Internet
Author: User

A customer is currently transitioning to use Office 365, considering that there is currently an Exchange server inside the enterprise, and therefore plan to migrate incrementally, currently completing the relevant AD directory synchronization, and enabling Lync Online enabled, so that all users are related to Office 365 E3 Licenses are not enabled for Exchange licenses.

Today, a problem is found, all display names that synchronize existing users are correct, but if you modify the display name of a user that already exists, you find that the name is always displayed for older users. This makes viewing in Lync very ugly.

Because the user is completed through directory Sync Sync, the Office 365 portal prompts cannot be modified, and attempts to modify using PowerShell find hints for the same error.

Check that the Directory Sync Tool check is also correct, compared to the old and new user attributes that are displayed correctly in DisplayName through the ADSI tool.

At this point, try to enable the Exchange license, force synchronization, find that the display is normal, remove the Exchange license, again forcibly synchronize Discovery or still.

Resolve this issue. There is currently no document describing this attribute is related to the Exchange license, so if there is a similar problem with the user, there can be another way of thinking.
