Open XP to set user access to disk file permissions

Q: I set up user access to disk files in Windows XP, but then inadvertently removed the user, and now cannot view the contents of the folder that is encrypted under that user's name. How can i solve this problem?

A: You can try the following methods:

1. Log on to the system as an administrator, and then close the "Use Simple file sharing (using easy files sharing)" In the "View" tab of the Folder option, under the Advanced settings (Advanced setting) List window check box.

2. Then return the disk partition containing the encrypted file or folder, select the Properties command in the associated menu, and switch to the Security tab, where you can see that no users are allowed to access, click the Advanced button, Enter the advanced settings interface.

3. Then switch to the Owner tab, where if there is a list of your users, select it, and select the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects (replace child container and owner of object)" checkbox below the interface check box, click Apply (apply) To add settings, you can see your name in the "Permissions" tab. Of course, if you are allowed to add new access users in the Permissions tab, you can ignore the actions above. When you click the OK button, you can now access the previously encrypted folder.
