Prerequisites: your CD can be directly started. We recommend that you use the CD to start and install it. Note that you must use the recording software that supports 64 letter long file names.

1. Preparation:
1. Write down the size of each partition before installation, so that you can check when selecting a partition to avoid Operation errors and loss of useful data.
2. Prepare an opendesktop 1.0 cd. OpenDesktop-i386-disc.iso official free:

preliminary download OpenDesktop-i386-disc.iso has three problems:

modification method: Use ultraiso v6.52 to edit (1 ). rename; On (2) and (3) re-download from the web and replace it so it fixes the OpenDesktop-i386-disc.iso;:

3. leave an empty area for opendesktop system installation. I keep the C drive FAT32 file system. After installing the Program , the partition is formatted. If there are important partitions, back up.

2. Install the opendesktop disc
set the disc as the first boot disk, place it on the installation disc, and restart the computer. If your disc can be automatically started, as shown in 1:
the installer is starting, and 2 is displayed.
needless to say, click Next, as shown in figure 3
pay special attention to this. The figure shows the list of all the partitions on your hard disk (I only have one partition here ), only carefully consider the partition you will use to install opendesktop, because the partition will be formatted by the installer (there will be a prompt), you can also select "advanced partition mode" for the next advanced partition settings. use the up or down arrow keys to select the partition used for installation and click "Next", as shown in Figure 4
the system prompts you to delete the selected partition, because the selected partition is in the FAT32 file system format, the installer will delete the partition and then create a partition in the Linux format. If the selected partition is in the Linux format, the installer will prompt the format of the partition. Click "delete", as shown in Figure 5
after the installation wizard ends, click" "Step 1" and then start the installation. There is no longer a previous step for the installation program. Click "Next", as shown in
figure 6 (the optical drive often crashes here)

after installation is complete, figure 10 appears.
> The system prompts you to remove the floppy disk or CD, then press "Next" to reboot the system, click "Next", and the computer restarts, the first screen that appears after startup is shown in Figure 11
Start is selected to start to opendesktop by default. If you have other Windows operating systems, you can choose the DOS option to start to Windows, next, as shown in 12

3. Function settings
I used to use the Windows operating system. When I installed the opendesktop 1.0 system, it seemed that I had entered a maze. After I entered it, I did not know whether the system driver had been installed? You can't see other Windows partitions, as if you are stuck in an abyss, cannot access the Internet, get lost, don't install programs, and so on. You don't know what the system is. Iv. How to uninstall opendesktop 1.0:
Enter dos, enter "fdisk/MBR" at the "A:> _" prompt, and press enter to overwrite the primary Boot Sector of the hard disk. Then, you can delete the boot menu of the opendesktop 1.0 system, if you are a Windows XP and opendesktop 1.0 dual system, only the Windows XP boot menu is available when you re-start the computer after rewriting the primary Boot Sector of the hard disk.
Delete the opendesktop 1.0 System Startup menu, and then delete the opendesktop 1.0 system file.
