Opensuse software installation-common usage of zypper

Zypper is a tool for installing software, but it doesn't feel as powerful as apt-Get. The basic usage is listed here for future use.

Basic Syntax: zypper [Global opts] + commend + [commend opts] + [commend ARGs]

Add Source

Zypper ar <URL> <aliasname>

Help

Zypper help commend

Zypper if commend # info

List patch updates

Zypper LP # list Patches

Patch

Zypper patch

Search

Zypper se package # search

Delete

Zypper RM package # Remove

Install

Zypper in package # Install

Update all packages to the latest version.

Zypper up # update

Update Source

Zypper refresh

Upgrade

Zypper DUP # dist-Update

Clear Cache

Zypper clean

 

Note: For software such as mplayer, it is best to compile it by yourself to achieve better performance.
