Optimization design of Vertica DBD analysis

The DBD = Database Designer is the primary native tool in the optimization of Vertica databases.

First run the AdminTools tool and follow the steps below:

1. Select "6 Configuration Menu"
2. Select "2 Run Database Designer"
3. "Select a database for design"Select the database you want to analyze
4. "Enter directory for Database Designer output:"Enter the output directory of the DBD
5. "Designer Name:"Enter the name of the DBD and feel free to start
6. "Design type[comprehensive| Query-specific]"Choose the design type of DBD with two single options and choose according to actual requirements
7. "Select Schema (s) for design"Select the Shema (s) to be designed
8. "Design options[optimize with queries| Update statistics| Deploy Design]"There are three complex options, it is recommended that you remove the deploy design and then manually apply the DBD recommendations
9. "Enter the full path for queries file"Input SQL query statements commonly used by the business to make the analysis of dbd more targeted
10. "proposed k-safety value:1"This is the default
11. "Select Storage footprint preference[balanced Query/load performance| Query performance (larger footprint) | Load performance (smaller footprint)]"There are three single options, depending on the actual needs of the choice, generally choose the first item, balanced query and load performance
12. "ProceedThe Execute DBD
13. "Database Designer started."The DBD has started and there will be output similar to the following until the DBD is completed
