Please read this article!

One, smooth operation Vista

Vista hardware requirements are relatively high, the default state of the boot up to occupy up to 400MB of memory. For low-profile computers you can turn off some of Vista's special effects and services to run Vista more smoothly.

Special effects resources selected by themselves

Vista can customize settings performance, right click on the Start Menu "Computer" icon Select "Properties", open the System Properties window, click "task → advanced system Settings", in the pop-up user account limit Warning window click "Continue." Then, on the open System Properties → advanced tab, click Settings, and click "visual options → adjust for best performance" in the Performance Options window to automatically turn off the fancy features of Vista (Figure 1). In addition, each Windows provides the most economical "Windows Classic mode". If you want to save the most resources, right-click on the desktop space to select personalize, open the Theme Settings window in the Open Settings window, click Themes, and then select Windows Classic in the topic list and click OK to exit to return to the classic Windows interface.

XP system download Hint: a lower-configured user may not be able to turn on some of Vista features. For example, the default 512MB memory user can not enjoy 3D effects, then we need to manually open this effect. Click start → run, enter "regedit", open Registry Editor, expand [hkcusoftwaremicrosoftwindowsdwm composition] sequentially, set its value to 1, and then locate the Hkcusoftwaremicrosoftwindowsdwmcompositionpolicy], set the value to 2. Then open "D:windowssystem32" (assuming Vista is installed on D, below) to find "Cmd.exe" right click to select "Run as Administrator", then enter "net stop uxsms" (Turn off effect service), and then enter "net start Uxsms "(restart Service). Now press the "Ctrl+windows logo key" To see the flip.

Turn UAC off, install the software at random

Vista introduces UAC account controls so that each installer pops up the UAC Control dialog box, and many programs need to be installed as a system administrator. As we have just installed the system, we usually need to install a large number of applications. The administrator account can then be enabled to install the program, thereby bypassing these limitations easily. Right-click the "Computer" icon in the Start menu to select "Manage" expand system management → Local Users and groups → users in the open window, right-click the Administrator account in the right user list select Properties, open the Properties Settings window, remove the hook before the account is disabled, and then click OK ( As shown in Figure 2). Return to the Admin window, right-click the Administrator account again and select "Set password" to reset the administrator password. Now click start → switch users, 7k7k games then log on to the system with the administrator, and we can install the application like we did in Windows XP.

XP system download prompt: Click "start → run", enter "msconfig" launcher, click the "Tools" tab, select "Disable UAC", click "Start", and then turn off UAC control after reboot.

Unrelated services all closed

System services are loaded by default each time, and some unrelated system services consume a large amount of system resources, and Vista defaults to open more services than Windows XP. We can optimize system services with the help of the system service optimizer terminator.

First to Http://count.skycn.com/softdownload.php?id=20944&url=http://sdly.skycn.net/down/ Wsot3.15.exe download software and install, after running the program, press the prompts to select a service that can be safely turned off, right-click to select "Disabled" (Figure 3).

XP system Download Tip: Please do not arbitrarily shut down the system important services, according to the software prompts you to shut down those who do not need the system services.

Sharing dual system resources

Although Vista is a new system, many of the original software installed in Windows XP can be used in Vista. For example, you can double-click the rar file in Vista, and then in the Open dialog box, select "Choose Programs from the list of installed programs", click "Browse" on the open window, select "C:Program FilesWinRARWinRAR.exe", and then tick " Always open the file with the selected program, so you can use WinRAR in Vista later (Figure 4). The use of QQ, Flashget, Foxmail is similar, these programs do not install again in Vista. In addition, you can take advantage of the import/export capabilities of Windows. For example, you can run IE in Windows XP, then click the file → Export and Import Wizard, select Export Favorites in the Export list, and then follow the prompts to export your favorites to other partitions to save, and then go to Vista run IE7 to import your favorites.

Second, optimize and maintain vista in XP

Because we have installed Windows Xp+vista Dual system, many of the 3366 little game Vista optimizations and maintenance operations can be easily done through Windows XP.

Give Vista weight loss in Windows XP

We already know that by default installing Vista capacity requires 7GB~8GB of space, for users with hard disk space, we can manually remove Vista unnecessary components in Windows XP. Because the components to be removed in Windows XP are not in use, we can easily remove them.

Before deleting a file, it is recommended that you back up the system before you go to Vista without exception and then delete the backup completely. For example, you can delete d:windowswebwallpaper (with wallpaper, unwanted delete, 45.5MB), D:windowssystem32driverstore filerepository ( window with drive backup takes up 1.03GB), D:windowswinsxsbackup (backup files, Occupy 354MB), d:userspublic (all user public folders, occupy 217MB), D:windowssystem32 Driverstorefilerepository (drive file, Occupy 1030MB).

XP system download Hint: Vista in the NTFS format, if the Windows XP prompts can not delete a file, right-click the file you want to manipulate select Properties, and then click the Security tab, the current user's permission to delete the file is set to Full control.

Back up and Restore Vista on Windows XP

Although the speed of installation of Vista has greatly improved, but with your own installed software + Automatic system updates, the installation of the entire system is more time-consuming, and because of the new system, many applications and Vista also have compatibility issues. Therefore, it is necessary to back up the vista after it has been installed. Now that we have a dual system installed, Vista backup and restore can be easily done in Windows xp via Ghost32 (download address: download.cpcw.com). Because of the size of Vista, it is recommended that you use the Ghost32 8.3 version, which produces a mirrored file larger than 2GB.

Run Ghost32 after you enter Windows XP, click local→partition→to Image, then select 2nd partition (install Vista partition), and then back up the partition as Vista.gho (Figure 5). This will restore vista later. Ditto, after you start Ghost32 in Windows XP, click Local→partition→from Image, and then select the prepared mirrored file to revert to the second partition.

Third, repair the missing dual boot menu

After successfully installing Vista, Vista adds a startup manager so that you can easily select the system each time you start your computer. However, many people have used ghost to back up Windows XP before installing Vista so that the Startup menu will be removed the next time Windows XP is restored. In addition, this startup manager is also unstable, for example, the author uses the "Convert command" to convert C Disk lossless to NTFS format, restart will lose the boot manager. The following describes how to fix the startup manager.

The status 1:c disk boot file is intact. In this case, use Vista's Own "Bootsect.exe" (Under the "boot" directory of the installation CD) to fix the boot menu. For example, the conversion of the C-disk partition format causes the menu to be lost, when you enter "L:bootsect.exe/nt60 C:" (L: for the disc letter, C: for the system disk), as long as you enter Windows XP to start the command prompt, "Bootcode was Successfully updated on all targeted volumes. " Prompt, the Startup manager appears when you reboot.

Condition 2: Delete Vista on C disk The required boot file causes the startup manager to disappear. For example, the ghost of the previous example restores Windows XP. You can then use Bcdedit to back up and restore the boot manager. But first you have to back up the startup files when Vista is normal, and it is highly recommended that you install the following files in the Vista backup (the following operations are running in Vista):

The first step: System boot file. C:boot (entire folder), C:bootmgr.sys, Config.sys, C:bootsect. BAK, C:boot.ini, Bootfont.bin, IO. SYS; MSDOS. SYS, Ntdetect.com,d:autoexec.bat, these are system-critical boot files.

B. Back up the BCD file. Here, with the help of vistaboot (download address: Http://www.area59.org/vistabootpro/dl/VistaBootPRO_3.1.0.exe) to backup, download the file right click on the installation file select "Administrator" to run the installation. After you run the program, click Backup/restore Center, and then click Save to select the save location (Figure 6).

Step Two: Now if you install and run Vistaboot in Windows XP because ghost loses the boot manager (note: The Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 is required to run Vistaboot in Windows XP), Ditto click "Backup/restore Center" and click "Restore Center" to import the backup file that is done above, and then copy the previously backed up boot file to C:. Restart manager can be restored after reboot.

XP system Download Tip: The best solution is to use Ghost to back up the C disk again after successfully installing Vista.
