In your spare time, it's a great deal of life to get the treasure from the cool "cool-headed man, dark night Genie" to "World of Warcraft", a beautiful 3D screen that allows players to stay in the dark, however, it is a headache for computers with low configurations, because the gorgeous pictures are too "brain", which not only puts a heavy pressure on the graphics card, at the same time, it is a severe test for the entire computer system.

Without a doubt, adding memory to your computer or upgrading your graphics card will definitely inject new vigor into your machine's performance, but today, we recommend that you set up the system and improve performance without changing the hardware configuration, so that your computer will not be a headache for World of Warcraft.

1. Scientifically Set virtual memory
First, our goal is to aim at the virtual memory, because World of Warcraft is particularly "eat" memory. If your memory stick does not reach the GB level, it is necessary to reset the system virtual memory.

1. Select the correct virtual memory location
If two physical hard disks are installed on your computer, you 'd better set World of Warcraft and virtual memory on different physical hard disks, in this way, you can read game scenarios and other data on disk A, and perform virtual memory operations on disk B at the same time. If there is only one hard disk, there is no need to modify the location of the virtual memory, this is because no matter which partition It is set to, it has no significant impact on performance.

To set the virtual memory location, press Win + Break to open the "System Properties" dialog box, switch to the "advanced" tab, and click the first "set" button, run the "advanced> change" command, select the partition for setting the virtual memory in the drive list, click the "System Management size" item, and click the "set" button, after confirming, restart the computer to change the virtual memory location.

Tip: When two physical hard disks are installed on the computer, it is recommended that you do not insert the two hard disks into the same data cable. This can also increase the "bandwidth" of the hard disk transmission to a certain extent ".

2. The virtual memory "weight" should be up to standard
Many game players like to set the virtual memory "weight" to 1.5 of the physical memory ~ This setting is not the most accurate but concise and practical. Here we will introduce a new method for you to scientifically set Virtual Memory Based on your machine configurations.

Run World of Warcraft, press Alt + Tab to switch out the game, right-click the Windows taskbar and select "Task Manager", click the "performance" Tab, and run the "View> Select column" command, check the "virtual memory size" option, and then you can view the virtual memory occupied by each program in the task manager, adding these virtual memory values is the virtual memory value you set when running the game.

Tip: the unit of the virtual memory value is KB, and the unit of the "System attribute" setting is MB. Please note that the conversion is (1024KB = 1 MB ), you do not have to calculate the number of digits accurately by 100%. You can first round these values into MB and then add them.

Ii. Hard Drive Speed Acceleration
For "Write cache" and "DMA transmission", the system is usually set by default. However, when you install software or play games, you may change the default settings of the system, therefore, enabling these two functions can also play a role in optimizing Warcraft.

1. Enable the write cache Function
Most of the World of Warcraft scenarios do not have loading images, but are read in real time, which puts forward higher requirements on hard disk performance and is also essential to optimizing hard disk settings. First, make sure that you have enabled the write cache on the hard disk. In the "hardware" tab in the "System Properties" dialog box, open the "Device Manager" and find the current hard disk, right-click the "attribute" command and open the "Enable write cache on disk" item in the "Policy" tab of the hard disk attribute (figure 1 ).

2. Enable DMA Transmission Mode
Similarly, in Device Manager, select basic/secondary IDE controller in ide ata/ATAPI controller, right-click and choose Properties to open the Advanced Settings tab, select "DMA (if available)" in the "transmission Mode" column. If you see that the current transmission Mode is "Ultra DMA Mode 5, then your hard disk has enabled DMA (figure 2 ).

Tip: The value after "Mode" may be different. If your hard disk display value is lower than 5, it may be because the hard disk does not support higher level DMA, or if you use a non-80-line hard drive data cable, the latter may be more frequent. You can change the hard drive data cable for a few dollars.

TIPS: Clear disk fragments on a regular basis
As mentioned above, most of the World of Warcraft scenarios do not have loading images, but are read in real time, which will generate a large number of disk fragments on your hard disk, if the hard disk is sorted out from time to time, it will make it difficult for us to play games, so let's sort out disk fragments for your disk, on the "my computer" page, right-click the partition drive letter containing World of Warcraft and execute the "attribute" command. Switch to the "tool" tab and click "start sorting.
When organizing the partition where the virtual memory is located, You can first set the virtual memory to another partition, restart the partition, and then organize the partition. After finishing the partition, set the virtual memory to this partition again, in this case, creating virtual memory files in this partition is continuous without generating disk fragments. You can also use professional disk fragment software such as PageDefrag to perform this operation.

3. "overclock" video card 3D
It's okay to use a high-end video card to play World of Warcraft, but if your video card is not that strong, you may wish to use PowerStrip for a soft overclocking. It's easy and easy to use without disassembling the machine box. :Http://www.cxzj.com.cn/Soft/adjustsoft/200407/2.html
After PowerStrip is installed and started, a display icon is displayed on the system tray. Right-click and choose "Performance Properties> Configuration". The "Performance Properties" dialog box appears (Figure 3 ), the leftmost display is the frequency control. You can adjust the frequency of your video card here to increase the performance of the video card. Note that the closer you are to the red line, the more dangerous you are. Never be too greedy and try to overclock, avoid burning your video card. In general, it is safer to increase the video card frequency to 1/5 of the default frequency, because the video card quality varies.

TIPS: Warcraft players can stop unnecessary system services
It is often said that the best operating system for playing computer games is Win98, because the Win98 operating system occupies a very small amount of system resources, while WinXP is particularly powerful, however, the system resource usage is also soaring. For our Warcraft players, we do not need many of the powerful WinXP features. We can consider temporarily removing these "extra" features. We recommend that you use the Game Machine software to automatically change the computer system to a Game Machine (:Http://www.onlinedown.net/soft/25191.htm), It is very simple to use, just press "Warp Speed" (figure 4 ).

The principle of the software is to modify the Registry to shield some WinXP functions. It is troublesome to block the features you often use. However, if you want to restore the system, we can click "Windows ults" to restore the default Windows value.
