The main domestic broadband access technology is the hybrid coaxial cable fiber network (HFCs) implemented by China Telecom's user digital line (XDSL) and China Radio and Television ). Most users use China Telecom's ADSL access. I. installation phase

If you are preparing to install ADSL, you should pay attention to the following issues. If you have installed ASDSL, you can also refer to the factors that affect ADSL to carry out the transformation.

First, the distance from your local device (ADSL module data center) to the Telecommunications Bureau directly affects your ADSL speed and stability. The farther you leave, the slower and unstable the speed. The digital signal degrades sharply as the propagation distance increases on the twisted pair wires, and there are various kinds of noise interference during transmission. In addition, the shortcomings of the ADSL technology are also one of the reasons. This factor that affects the rate of ADSL cannot be optimized manually. However, we can perform the following operations on our own, which deserves your attention.

The branch box cable of the Telecommunications Bureau is originally a twisted pair cable, but in order to reduce costs, the Telecommunications Bureau usually change the twisted pair cable to a single-line connection. Twisted Pair wires twist the two copper wires to reduce external interference and the winding caused by electromagnetic coupling. The current Ethernet is the twisted pair wires. A single line has no impact on voice signal transmission, but the performance of high-speed digital signal transmission on a single line is of course compromised. We recommend that you use a single-line user to replace the user loop part (that is, from the telecom junction box to the household part) with a category 5 twisted pair or pull an ADSL leased line.

Indoor wiring is also an important factor affecting the network speed. At present, the TIA/EIA-568-B used in the United States and the ISO/IEC11801 network engineering Cabling Standards for Europe are clearly pointed out that indoor network cabling must not be parallel with cable cabling, the best network line is vertical line with the cable. Because the two parallel copper wires are prone to strong electromagnetic coupling, if the network line and the cable are parallel and very close, the network speed may be very slow, or even unable to access the Internet.

As an important part of ADSL technology, the performance of ADSLModem is also crucial to network performance. At present, many Telecom bureaus in many regions are sending ADSLModem in initial installation. Since it is sending, the quality cannot be guaranteed. Many users have poor ADSLModem network problems. We can purchase ADSLModem produced by large manufacturers on the computer peripheral market, such as omnidirectional and real-world. In addition, the chip used by ADSLModem is a good quality guarantee. I suggest using the ADSLModem of Conexant (formerly Rockwell) chip. The stability and speed of the Conexant chip have always been praised by experts.

ADSLModem is divided into two types: internal and external, and the external has two types: Nic interface and USB interface. The built-in ADSLModem is cheap, but because it is vulnerable to electromagnetic interference in the chassis, the performance is not very good, and the built-in ADSLModem occupies system resources, which affects the speed of the entire system for users with low configurations. The external ADSLModem of the USB interface does not need to install the NIC, but it also occupies system resources. I suggest using the external Nic interface ADSLModem.

For nic selection, it is best to use a 10 M/M Adaptive ethernet card. I also recommend using NICs produced by large manufacturers using the Conexant chip. Do not buy a miscellaneous Nic, because the NIC is also an important part of the network, and it is often difficult to find out if there is a problem with the NIC.

Ii. Use phase

If it is an ADSL leased line, you can access the Internet immediately. If it is not a leased line, you need to use ADSLModem to access the Internet through virtual dialing.

ADSL uses PPPoEPoint-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) virtual dialing software, which has their own shortcomings. We recommend that you use the PPPoE dial-up software that comes with Windows XP. After multiple tests, the virtual dial-up software is rarely interrupted, and the stability is also relatively improved. If you are using Windows 9x/Me, you can choose EnterNet, WinPoET, and RasPPPoE. Among them, WinPoET is very convenient to install and use, but it occupies a lot of resources and has poor stability. EnterNet directly works independently without relying on the dial-up network of the operating system. It is powerful and easy to use and comes with a firewall, it is also commonly used. Use the PPPoE dialing software that comes with Windows XP as follows: Open the "control panel"-"network connection"-"New Connection" of the server, fill in the area code, and select the NIC connected to the ADSL Mode, in this case, make sure that the network adapter is in the "enabled" status during connection. Then, select "manually set connection"-"require the user name and password for broadband connection" and set the connection name, enter the user name and password provided by the ISP, and select whether the connection is the default connection, and whether to enable the firewall of the gateway. Click "finish" to create a broadband connection.

When using the ADSLModem, pay attention to the following points. First, because ADSL overlays high-frequency digital signals on the low-frequency voice of a common telephone line, the addition of any device in the connection from the telephone company to the ADSL filter will endanger normal data transmission, therefore, do not use the phone number, phone number, or other devices before the filter. Second, pay special attention to the heat dissipation of the ADSLModem in the summer. When the temperature is high, the work of the ADSLModem will become unstable. Because of the high temperature, many ADSL disconnection problems have been encountered, some parts are also burned out. Third, do not place the mobile phone next to the ADSL Modem, because the mobile phone will automatically find the network every few minutes, then the powerful electromagnetic interference is enough to cause the ADSL Modem to cut off. Finally, do not start the internet in the thunder weather, do not forget ADSLModem, pay attention to ventilation and moisture. These are all important to keep your ADSL at a high speed.

Because the NIC must be installed to use broadband, the system will detect the IP address of the machine every time the computer is started. Therefore, it takes a long time to set an IP address for the NIC to solve this problem. First, right-click the "Network Neighbor" icon on the desktop and select "properties" in the pop-up menu. Then, right-click the installed Nic and select "properties" in the pop-up menu ", double-click "TCP/IP" in the pop-up window to specify an IP address for the NIC, such as 192.168.0.1. In this way, the boot speed will increase a lot.

After the best arrangement and proper use of the hardware, we can use the software to further optimize our ADSL to make it the best. These software is often optimized from the hardware itself, combined with the optimization settings of the relevant parameters in the system to achieve the purpose of optimization. The following describes several popular optimization tools: ADSL ultra-frequency qibing, fast ADSL, Netspeeder, final-level Internet acceleration, and Throttle. They are all shared software and can be downloaded for free on some large software download websites (such as the huajun Software Park. In addition, these software is relatively simple to use.
