To check:
1: The installed version is
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0-64bit Production

2: View Parameters
SELECT * FROM V$option
Partitioning false

3: Need to enable it now

To close the database:
Shutdown immediate

$ cd $ORACLE _home/rdbms/lib
$ make-f ins_rdbms.mk part_on
$ make-f ins_rdbms.mk ioracle

4: Start the database
CREATE table T (n number) partition by range (n) (partition P1 values less than (2)); Test OK
