Oracle 10g RAC installation experience in Linux

Source: Internet
Author: User

When installing Oracle 10g RAC on Linux systems such as Red Hat as 5, we often encounter one or another errors. Some new environments lack such configurations, some old environments have such unsuitable settings, and sometimes some bugs.

I have encountered various problems since I installed 10g RAC in 2005. Now, we will summarize the key points and problems during the installation process.

1. Install the OS patch

Check and install the following patch packages.

Rpm-ivh setarch-2.0-1.1.x86_64.rpm
Rpm-ivh make-3.81-3.el5.x86_64.rpm
Glibc-2.5-24 rpm-ivh .*
Libaio-0.3.106-3.2 rpm-ivh .*
Rpm-ivh compat-libstdc ++ -*
Rpm-ivh compat-gcc-34-3.4.6-4.x86_64.rpm
Rpm-ivh compat-gcc-34-c + +-3.4.6-4. x86_64.rpm
Rpm-ivh gcc-4.1.2-42.el5.x86_64.rpm
LibXp-1.0.0-8.1.el5 rpm-ivh .*
Openmotif-2.3.0-0.5.el5 rpm-ivh .*
Compat-db-4.2.52-5.1 rpm-ivh .*

If the installation is not complete, some errors may occur.

Error 1:

/Tmp/OraInstall2007-12-30_02-16-11PM/jre/1.4.2/lib/i386/libawt. so: libXp. so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory occurred ..

The reason is: the graphical dynamic link library libXp. so.6 that supports printing is missing

This error is due to the lack of the system installation package, in versions earlier than RHEL5, you can install the xorg-x11-deprecated-libs package, this installation package can be found in the third Disk of the system Cd (for RedHat as4.2, redhat as4.4 is the fourth installation disc)

Xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.2-31.i386.rpm

Error 2:

Exception: java. lang. unsatisfiedLinkError:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2 _ 06/jre/lib/i386/libawt. so: libXt. so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

This error is also caused by the lack of the system installation package, you only need to install the XFree86-libs package, this installation package can be found in the system disc.

If the preceding two errors occur in redhat as5, the solution is as follows:

The above package in RHEL5 is replaced by libXp, so the rpm-ivh libXp-1.0.0-8.i386.rpm can solve the problem after marking the package.

Error 3:

Error while loading shared libraries: libstdc ++-libc6.1-1. so.2

Perform the following operations only: ln-s libstdc ++-libc6.2-2. so.3 libstdc ++-libc6.1-1. so.2

Finally install the rpm-ivh libXp-1.0.0-8.i386.rpm issue.

Error 4: when installing the database

"UError in invoking target 'all _ no_orcl ihsodbc 'of makefile'/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk '. see '/u01/app/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2006-10-16_06-41-37PM.log' for details 'error.

After analysis, a compat-libstdc ++-33. i386.rpm package is missing.

[Root @ dg1 Server] # rpm-ivh compat-libstdc ++-*. rpm

Warning: compat-libstdc ++-296-2.96-138.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 37017186

Preparing... ######################################## ### [100%]

1: compat-libstdc ++-33 ################################# ######### [1, 50%]

2: compat-libstdc ++-296 ################################# ######### [1, 100%]

After installation, the problem is solved.
