Oracle 12c connection errors reported ORA-28040 problem solution, 12cora-28040
Problem description:

When the client connects to Oracle 12c, an error is reported:

ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol


Cause:

The SQLNET. ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION parameter of Oracle 12c is equal to 11 by default. When we connect to the thin driver earlier than the 11g JDBC version, an error is reported.


Solution:

Add a line of sqlnet. ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION = 8 to the oracle/network/admin/SQLNET. ora file on the database server. Restart the database and reconnect to the database. The connection is successful and the problem is solved.
