Follow these steps to switch between the two windows:

Bytes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/PATH/TO/Disk1/runInstaller,
Follow the default installation steps.
We recommend that you only select: do not install OPS, do not install JServer, etc,
Single database and single instance, otherwise it will slow you down to doubt the crash ......
1 Oracle Server
2 Net8
3 Oracle Utilities
4 Orcale Configuration Assistants
2. When permission group settings appear,
Enter the preset dba group. When ORACLE installation prompts you to run the oracle user group permission setting script
Root # orainstRoot. sh
3. choose not to install the database for the database installation configuration.
(Or the Database Assistant is not installed at the end, so it must be used.
In glibc-2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz
Setup_stub.sh install the patch and then install the database)
4. When the ORACLE Installation prompt "Run root. sh" is displayed
Root # root. sh
At this time, the root. sh of Oracle8.1.7.0.1 has a bug. It should be in line 156th and corrected as follows:

Write less single quotes "" --------- ^

Oracle % cd $ ORACLE_HOME
Glibc-2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz for oracle % tar zxf
Oracle %./setup_stubs.sh
7. After the patch is installed, start dbassist on X with the oracle user.
Follow the prompts to create a database.
Oracle % dbassist
Installation Complete
After the database is set, set the newly installed ORACLE_SID to. bash_profile. Assume that the default database instance ID is orcl.
Export ORACLE_SID = orcl
