6.9.1 What is a template
The relationship between the database template and the database is like the relationship between the blank file registration form and the actual personnel file.
6.9.2 system default 3 types of templates
When you select "Typical" to install the database server, there are 3 templates built in. As shown in table 6.5.

6.9.3 How to customize a personalized template
(1) Start the database configuration Assistant until you see the "Operations" interface shown in Figure 6.49.
(2) The template management interface appears as shown in Figure 6.50.
(3) The "source database" interface appears as shown in Figure 6.51.
(4) The template properties interface appears as shown in Figure 6.52.
(5) The "Database related file Location" interface appears as shown in Figure 6.53.
(6) The "Overview" interface appears as shown in Figure 6.54.
(7) The "Create Process" interface appears as shown in Figure 6.55.
(8) After the successful creation of the database template, the Create complete interface appears as shown in Figure 6.56.
(9) The template file created can be viewed under the default installation directory, as shown in Figure 6.57.
6.9.4 How to use templates
(1) Copy the template file shown in Figure 6.57 to other carrier such as hard disk.
(2) Copy the two files in the template directory of the Oracle 9i database server that will use the template.
(3) Call the database Configuration Assistant to create the database until the database template interface shown in Figure 6.58 appears. There are templates in the template file directory that appear in the list box.
