Oracle and PHP Integration: Zend Core for Oracle

Core|oracle in Monday, Oracle and Zend announced the launch of a beta version of Zend Core for Oracle, a technology that integrates Oracle's database with Zend's PHP development environment. The "Zend Core for Oracle" technology enables PHP users to develop applications in Oracle environments. The official sources of the two companies say the beta version is now ready to be downloaded from both Web sites, with the final version expected to come out later this year. In addition, Oracle has published a series of technical articles at its OTN (Oracle Technology Network) site to help users deploy PHP, address security, and performance challenges. The site also "distributes" some technical resources to the PHP developer community, including the PHP Installation Wizard on Oracle Application Server and Oracle database, online forums, and Oracle JDeveloper 10g PHP extensions. At the same time, Zend has also opened its Web site to support "Zend Core for Oracle." The company also said the technology could be compatible with existing Zend products (e.g., Zend Platform and Zend Studio).
