Oracle Archive Log Full workaround

Error: Ora-00257:archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed

Cause: The archive log is full

Processing method:

1. SYS User LOGIN database

Sqlplus/nolog

Connect/as SYSDBA

2. View Flash_recovery Usage

SELECT * from V$flash_recovery_area_usage;

3. View the archive path

Sql> show parameter recover;

NAME TYPE VALUE---------------------------------------------------------------D B_recovery_file_dest string/opt/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area db_recovery_file_dest_size Big int Eger 3882M recovery_parallelism Integer 0

4. Delete archived data files

Cd/opt/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area

RM-RF the file name to delete

5. Using Rman operation

Rman Target Sys/pass

rman> Delete expired Archivelog all;

Complete the space cleanup.
