Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise Edition post-installation configuration (BI Publisher Enterprise Edition)

Simple Introduction

The configuration after installation consists mainly of 4 items:

1. Configure the Planning database

2. Configure the JDBC demo data source

3. Configure the file presentation data source

4. Install the BI Publisher desktop client.

Configuring the Scheduler Database

To perform the report on a regular basis, you need to configure a database and install the BI Publisher Scheduler schema, such as the following:

1. First Use Administrator to login bi publisherserver, then select Admin tab.

2. Select the scheduler Configuration below the system maintenance.

3. Enter the following fields for the database connection above

L database types, such as oracle10g, IBM DB2 V9, etc., will voluntarily change the database-driven class field by choice.

L connection string, specify the database connection string for the selected database type, with the default format, you can change it.

l username and password, the user must have permission to connect to the database and create a table for the scheduled user established for the database.

L database-driven class, which is self-setting based on the database type, but you can also specify other classes manually.

Note: Both the Oracle database driver and the DataDirect driver are installed with the Bipublisher and do not require additional settings. But for other database drivers, even though the database-driven class field is self-setting, additional settings are required.

4. Click Test Connectionbutton, assuming that the settings are correct, the page will be prompted to establish a successful connection, I figure here is easy to use apps, here should establish a user named bipubsched is better.

5. Click Install Schema to follow the scheduler schema to your database, after installation, the page will be prompted.

Configuring the demo JDBC Data source

Note: The demo data source must be connected to an Oracle database that has a demo sample schema and an unlocked hr and OE user.

1. Select Admin Tab

2. In the Data Source section, select the JDBC Connection connection

3. Select a data source named "Demo"

4. On the Update Data source page, change the connection string to point to an Oracle database that has an unlocked OE user.

5. Click Test Connectionbutton to confirm that BI Publisher has access to the database.

6. Click Apply to save the changes.

Configuring the presentation file data source

The XMLP folder includes a presentation file data source folder, such as the following settings for this folder as a file-based data source:

1. Locate the Demofiles folder in the installation folder, mine is C:\DevSuiteHome_1\xmlp\XMLP\DemoFiles

2. Sign in to BI Publisher with administrator users

3. Select Admin Tab

4. In the Data Source section, select File

5. Enter the path to the Demofiles folder, for example:

7. Now that the test demo report is available, click Reports tab, then select Shared Folders>financials>, and click Edit below Balance letter.

Installing Bipublisher Desktop Client

Under the Manual\tools folder under the BI Pulisher installation folder, there is a desktop client installation file BIPublisherDesktop.exe, my folder is

F:\PPDownload\bipublisher_windows_x86_101342\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher_Standalone\manual\XMLP\ Tools.
