Oracle EM Grid Control 11g Installation Guide

Oracle EM Grid Control is a centralized monitoring and management tool for Oracle databases, operating systems, and other applications. His developers gradually extended it into an Enterprise Console, or even replaced the network operation console.

We have encountered many strange problems in the installation and use of the 10g version. By now, it has grown to 12c.

Here we select the 11g version for installation to manage the operating systems and database systems of multiple database servers in our system.

The operating system of the Server where Oracle EM Grid Control 11g is installed is Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.2 (Tikanga) 2.6.18 92. el5 (64-bit), x86_64 hardware platform, intel processor chip.

Therefore, based on this system situation, we need to go to the Oracle website http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/linuxx8664soft-085949.html, download the appropriate installation package Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control Release 1 (11.1.0.1.0) for Linux x86-64. A total of three installation packages, totaling 4.4 GB.

On the download page, you can also download an Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Management Agent software installation package.

Another package also needs to be downloaded. It is used as an application server to provide the grid control operating platform and access service.

In 11g, it is weblogic server, the version is 10.3.2 for x86-64 generic, the file name is called wls1032_generic.jar, about 923 MB. This version is required.

Install

Install Grid Control 11g Server

Before installing Grid Control on an OEM server for 11 GB, you need to do two things first.

First, create an Oracle database on another database server.

The minimum database version is 10.2.0.4, which is the minimum version requirement for the database used for Grid Control 11g. When you create a database using dbca, do not select the em dbconsole option. The number of processes must be greater than or equal to 500. If other parameters are not suitable, a prompt will be prompted when installing Grid Control 11g.

The name of the database I created is emrep.

Second, install Oracle weblogic server 11g R1 (10.3.2) on the OEM server ). Jdk 1.6 is used.

The installation command is:

/Home/jdk1.6.0 _ 31/bin/java-jar/u01/oracle/app/oracle/wls1032_generic.jar

During installation, select a middlware directory to report the weblogic server Software Package error. After the installation is complete, start the service. You do not need to create a domain. It is automatically created when Grid Control 11g is installed.

Installing Grid Control 11g is much easier than 10g. Run runInstaller and select the appropriate conditions as required to proceed to the next step.

If the "invalid Oracle Middleware Home location" error occurs when you select the middlerware installation directory, check the installation and running status of your weblogic server.

When I installed Grid Control 11g, I did not know to install weblogic server before, so this step has an error. After weblogic server is installed, it has been detected.

After the installation is complete, configure the IP address and host name of all monitored clients to the/etc/hosts file, and configure the virtual IP address and Host Name of RAC. This is to prepare for agent installation and use.
