LENGTHB (string) computes the byte length of a string: Returns the length of the strings, in bytes

Length (String) calculates the string's characters: the length of the returned strings, in characters

For single-byte characters, LENGTHB and length are the same.

If you can use length (' String ') =LENGTHB (' string ') to determine whether the string contains Chinese.

Note:

How many bytes a Chinese character occupies in the Oracle database is related to the character set of the database, UTF8, with a length of three.
