Sometimes, as a DBA, you may need to collect the deployed Oracle database information. Hardware configuration, operating system conditions, software installation path, database user information ... One thing is enough to get a headache. It would be much easier if there were tools to automatically collect them for us. Ora2html is such a handy gadget.
ora2html Introduction
Ora2html (from http://ora2html.sourceforge.net/) is a tool dedicated to collecting Oracle database information on UNIX-like platforms and outputting reports. The tool's main program is a shell (korn/bash) script that can be used on most unis and Linux platforms. Using ora2html requires an Oracle environment that is available. Although the previous version of 8i support is not good, but still can be used on 8i, 10g is a similar situation. Run well above the 8i/9i.

Currently fully supported platforms:
Solaris 2.7/2.8 Tru64 4.x/5.x HP-UX Linux Other platforms should also be available, but no one seems to have confirmed this.

Characteristics of ora2html:

Basic usage:

The default report is very detailed and the entire page (if you choose to output HTML) is divided into four main sections
1-basic system/platform information# Basic System/Platform information 2-os User Configuration and environment# operating system users and environment variables 3-oracle software and components#oracle software and Components 4-database foo (/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0) #实例信息
In the report, there are problems with red fonts, such as "lazy" users (passwords are too simple or users with the default password), and so on.

Other issues
Ora2html is still in the process of development, has the potential to become a very convenient database information collection tool (the last update is actually Oct 22 2004, developers YCL still very diligent:-)). The problem now is that CSS does not have full and HTML page stripping (as the author is aware); Platform support is not broad enough; there is no support for XML.
