Oracle stored procedure cannot be debugged

Source: Internet
Author: User

Problem:

Use pl/SQL developer to debug Oracle stored procedures.

Right-click the stored procedure, select test, and press f9 (debug ). If this is normal, the buttons such as run and step into can be clicked, or click run to the breakpoint, or click step into for single-step tracking.

However, when you debug a stored procedure in an Oracle rac dual-host environment, you can run or step into after you click f9. Sometimes pl/SQL dev is like dead, the buttons cannot be clicked. The "executing" is displayed in the status prompt column below ".

Cause:

The dual-host adopts the load balancing policy, and Debugging starts two sessions, which may be allocated to different nodes and thus cannot be debugged.

Solution:

Configure single-host access to tnsnames on the development machine where you want to debug the stored procedure.

For example:

RAC1 =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.0.0.1) (PORT = 1521 ))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = RAC) # notice the difference
(INSTANCE_NAME = RAC1) # betwen this
)
)
